Modify the settings of the router and make sure that there will be no hindrances on the wireless signal'sway. Router should be in an isolated location. Change the channel as well.Follow this instructions:1. connect via hard wired connection using your PC (network cable)2. open your internet explorer or any browser.3. type the numbers 192.168.1.1 or 10.1on the address bar4. you will be routed to your router's.1.1 settings, type admin for USERNAME: and admin for PASSWORD.5. look for the basic setup/settings6. look for the wireless settings then you see the channel option by 6 or 11.7. under your SSID comes the WEP or WPA-PSK option8. that is your wi-fi password, then modified it and remember the password you use for you will need to enter it on your pc when you are connecting via wireless connection.you can select ASCII for password. it should be alpha numeric or combination of letters and numbers.9. select save and apply. then you are good to go.thanks for choosing www.fixya.com and kindly rate this post

I am replacing a linksys

Step 1: Log into the web-based configuration by typing in the IP address of the router (default:192.168.0.1) in your web browser. Select Admin as the username and type in your password. Leave blank if you have not created or changed your password.

Note: The address 192.168.0.1 is NOT on the Internet. The web-based configuration is built-in to the router.

If the router is already online, you will be taken to the STATUS page after logging in. If this is the case, the router is connected and you do not need to continue with this FAQ.

Step 2: Click the Setup tab and then click Internet on the left side.

Step 3: Click on the Manual Configure button.

Step 4: Select PPPoE (username/password) from the My Internet Connection is drop down menu and enter the following settings:

-Address Mode: Select the Dynamic IP radio button, unless your ISP (Internet Service Provider) supplied you with a static IP address.
-Username and Password: Enter the username and password your ISP gave you. In most cases your username is the same as your email address provided by your internet provider (example: [email protected]).
-Reconnect Mode:Should be set to On Demand
-MTU and Maximum Idle Time: Should be left at the defaults (MTU: 1492 / Maximum Idle Time: 20) unless specifically instructed otherwise by your ISP.

Step 5: Click on the Save Setting button to save the changes.

Step 6: Click on Status tab and Device Setting on the left side.

If you are connected to the Internet; your Cable Status and Network Status will say Connected, you will have an IP Address, Subnet mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS Server and Secondary DNS Server. If you do not, click on the Renew Button.

I have an ipad and bought a hp c310 wireless

As of right now printing from the iPad is only "officially supported" by like 4 types of HP printers. I am not sure if yours is one of them (it is the newer ones for now). There are some tricks you can use (extra programs to install) that should allow all printers. Do you have a mac or a PC? If you have a mac follow this guide and it should work for you....

We have 3 wireless printers, 2 wireless computers

When dealing with networks accessed across a domain and then being accessed via wireless, it is imperative to have all the machines have a static IP address. This ensures that the printers are knwon by IP address as opposed to look them up and it makes it easier as you grown and expand to have more equipment on the network. The assignment of IP addresses is crucial in this type of environment to security as wel to quickly pick up if your network has been infiltrated and compromised as well. It also makes it easier when switching out equipment because the next replacement for that particular peice of equipment will already have an IP address assigned to it.

On my D-Link Dir-825 Wireless Router, can I change

If your network is "unsecure", which means no pass keys will be provided by client computer when they connect, then you can do it. Just change your SSID from your router's admin interface and your connecting computers will recognize it as a new network and try to negotiate connection. If there is a passkey, then the connecting computers will be prompted for a pass key (though it is an old pass key) since they recognize it as a new network.
