Sounds like there was an accidental change to the brightness control. Try unplugging the TV overnight and see if it will reset to factory setup. If that doesn't work use your flashlight to see if you can get to the menu page for brightness and then move the control to the middle-- it will bring up the brightness. Also, you can try to find the menu item to reset all controls to the factory settings. Look in your manual or find the manual on-line.

To use a USB flash drive with the LG 42LD550, the drive must be formatted as a FAT32 or NTFS device. The drive should be 32GB or less.
