I have a rca l32hd41 and there are vertical lines
Hi, well this usually indicates that the set has developed either a bad LCD panel, and/or the driving electronics, this is a very common problem. However it also maybe caused by a bad power supply either the main one or the inveter in the LCD? There is no way to tell without performing the troubleshooting steps to isolate and locate the fault and repair. If you wish to DIY then first you MUST obtain a service manual, then using the manual you need to check first the Power Supply and then work through the troubleshooting steps, and attempt to isolate the bad part, once located usually component level replacement, can be performed or simply replace the entire board, or assembly is usually the best though, the parts numbers etc, are all, only, in the service manual. (I have searched but was unable to locate a copy, perhaps a direct approach to the manufacturer may yield one? should you wish to peruse this way)The best way to repair this unit though, imho, would be to contact a local or head office from RCA, and ask them for a referral to an authorised service center. Then make contact, and take the unit there, when there and when in face to face contact, then, not before, ONLY ask for a "Quote" as to what's wrong and prospective costings, this way you can get an idea of what's what, and see if you need to repair or replace? I say this as these days many of my customers prefer to put any larger amounts of money that would have been spent on repair, towards a new unit with a full warranty, as more and more the costs of repair can often be very high, for even the most simplest seemingly straight forwards job.
