When i turn on the

Hi,it's not updated that's why . You need to upgrade with firmware.

Follow this instruction:

Things You'll Need:
  • A MP3 Player
  • A Computer with an Internet Connection
Verify that the player is fully charged.

Verify the the player is unplugged from your computer.
Go to the Mp3 support site, linked below, select your player, and download the Sansa Firmware Updater software. Follow the instructions for installing it on your computer. If you need them, you may also download user manuals for your or watch how-to videos on updating the firmware.
Put the player in MSC mode. Go to the settings menu, select the USB submenu, and then select MSC. Some players with early firmwares do not have the USB options in the menu. If this is the case with your device, then there is another way to force it into MSC mode: Put the device in "hold" mode by sliding the hold switch until orange is visible. Next, press and hold the left (rewind) button until the screen changes. Go to the next step.
Plug your mp3 player into your computer and wait. The Firmware updater should launch automatically. Follow the prompts to update your player. Be certain not to unplug your player until the updater is finished. The software will tell you when it is safe to disconnect.

Tips & Warnings
  • If the above does not work for any reason, there is another way to update the firmware, by manually installing the necessary files. Consult the official support forum for specific instructions for your device. See the link below.
  • Be sure not to unplug your device while it is being updated. This could permanently ruin it.

When i put on video, it says: file format

Hello

Ok, this means that the video format in which you loaded to the player is not supported.

Have a look at the instruction menu and see which video format is supported. Then you need to convert the video in to one of the compatible video formats.

Kind regards
Andrea

My sylvania mp3 touch screen wont click on icons

Is it turned on ? Is the protective film with the fake icons on it still over the screen? Doesnt seem to register with that still on there. There is also a pen in the device, that might help.

Sylvania 8GB MP3 player

if you peel off the protective film with the fake icons on it covering the screen first, then plug it in, it will show you a pic of a charging battery thats shows you how charged it is. (just like a cell phone) When it shows the battery "full"... its charged.

No Response from device.

If your computer is windows xp Go into your control panel, press system, then hardware, then device manager. Your mp3 player is the item that should have a yellow ! next to it. Click it then up the top of the box there is a computer with a cross through it. Click that then press yes and let it uninstall, then unplug your mp3 player then plug it back in, re-install it and enjoy......

dont forget rate me.....

good luck....

My earphones won't work because my mp3 broke on the inside

It will be tough without a fair amount of skill and a new jack. Takes a watchmaker to fix this. I know - I used to teach how to do it.

Vidoes/music to mp3

well first off, it looks like the only video format your player accepts is .AMV. First step would be to find a video converter that has AMV as a conversion option. You can find the free download here: http://www.bestshareware.net/download/video-to-amv-converter.htm . Now as for getting the media on your device, follow these steps first to ensure proper driver installation: (1) Execute Setup.exe in driver CD and complete the driver installation. (2) Reboot the PC. (3) Connect the MP3 player to the USB port of the PC.
Now that your rebooted, plug your USB cable in, and depending on your version of windows, you should have a window pop-up titled Removable Disk "@" (@ indicates whatever drive letter your computer auto assigns your device). Select the option to "view files and folders", and you are now accessing your media device. Copy and paste desired media to appropriate folders, and enjoy your Sylvania. :D
