Hi heidiherrley,
If you can't delete the files from the player itself, why don't you try hooking it up to your computer and going ahead from there? Once it is connected, go to My Computer(or any equivalent of your OS) and enter the folder of the mp3 player. If it refuses to open and just autoplays or launches a music manager on double-click, right-click and select "Open". Inside, there must be a folder marked Music or Tracks or something easy to locate. Go inside that, and remove all the mp3 files you think you don't need and can free up 20 mb. DO NOT DELETE ANY FOLDER INSIDE THE PLAYER, cause that might be fatal. See if this helps; if not, feel free to post your problem again.
Can't download the RCA Easy Rip
You can get the download for it from RCA's website. I tried to use it and got frustrated, so I started using Windows Media Player to upload music to my player.
Cannot download songs into the mp3 player
Try using Windows Media Player. I found it is so much easier than to use the program that came with the player. Just make sure you have the most up to date version for your operating system. According to the Microsoft website, Windows XP is version 10, Vista is version 11, and Windows 7 is version 11 or 12. You can also download the current version from their website as well. I have used Windows Media Player to upload music and audio books to my MP3 player and it is so much easier.

I run Windows XP, so mine was version 10. Windows Vista and Windows 7 usually run version 11. The miscrosoft website can help you determine which version is right for you.
Bought the RCA m4304-a for son for Christmas when
Try using Windows Media Player to upload your music. I'm not a fan of the software that came with it. I received mine as a Christmas gift a few days ago and I found it is so much easier to upload music through Windows Media Player than to use their software. Plus, it is a lot easier to upload audio books as well. Make sure you have the most up to date version of Windows Media Player for your operating system. I run Windows XP, so mine was Windows Media Player 10.
I haven't tried to upload video or pictures yet though. Hope this helps!
My m4304 mp3 player reads building database
I see a lot of people are having this problem. I received mine a few days ago as a gift and had this same problem. First, go to the RCA website and follow the instructions to re-install the player's firmware. Then, disconnect your player and turn it on once the install is complete. When you get to the main screen that allows you to browse through your folders and settings, turn your power save function off in the settings folder. This will save you a lot of frustration in the future.
When you begin loading music, use Windows Media Player instead of the software that comes with the player. Also, upload a few songs at a time. I tried to upload 3GB of music at once and had to start this entire process over. I would load around 50-75 songs, disconnect it, turn it on, let it build the database, then turn it off and do it again.
Hope this helps!!
