NOT ACTIVE AUDIO WINDOWS XP.....WHAT THIS IS

Click Start, click Control Panel, double-click System, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager. 18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b.jpg If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. Double-click Sound, video and game controllers to expand that category. If a sound card is listed, you have one installed. If no sound card is listed, check the information that came with your computer to see if there's supposed to be a sound card installed. If there should be a sound card installed, you'll need to install one.If you think you have a sound card installed, but you don't see it under the Sound, video and game controllers category, expand the Other devices category and check any devices listed there.Laptops don't usually have sound cards. Instead, they have integrated sound processors, which appear in the same category in Device Manager.

If there's a yellow question mark next to the name of the sound card in Device Manager, there might be a problem.

  1. Right-click the name of the sound card, and then click Properties.

  2. Click the General tab, and then look in the Device status box to identify problems with the sound card.

  3. Although most speakers have a volume control, you can control the overall level of sound using Windows.

    1. Open Volume Control by clicking the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.png, clicking Control Panel, clicking Hardware and Sound, and then, under Audio Devices and Sound, clicking Adjust system volume.

    2. Under Main Volume, move the slider up or down to raise or lower the volume.

Problem with asus motherboard p5klp-am

Hi

If a password is requested during boot, it means a password has been set in BIOS. This means you need to enter the password in order to enter the BIOS and change any settings there.

If you do not know, or have forgotten the password, disconnect the pc from the electricity, open the side panel, find the small, flat silver battery on the motherboard and carefully remove it, using a screwdriver to safely click the clip holding it down.

After, 2 miunutes, replace the battery, making sure it clicks down in exactly the same position as before.

Use this opportunity to clean out any dust and dirt that may have accumulated inside the PC, then close it and reconnect the power cable.

When you restart the PC, you should find that the BIOS has been reset to factory default settings and the password is no longer required. You might also have to re-enter the time and date, one time only, to reset the PC's clock/calendar.

If you enter another password, make a separatexe note of the password by e-mailing it to yourself and/or saving it in your cellphone.

Hope this helps.

This error is not the same as a CMOS Checksum Error, which refers to corrupted values of the CMOS settings, the ones you set through the BIOS setup program. This error means the contents of the BIOS code itself are damaged.
Diagnosis: The BIOS ROM chip on the motherboard is probably faulty. It could also be another component on the motherboard.

You should make sure that all of the BIOS settings in the system are correct, by rebooting the system, going into BIOS setup and double-checking all the values (hopefully against a recent

If you have reset the CMOS memory you need to go into the BIOS setup screen and reconfigure the BIOS. To do that you need to press a key while the computer is booting. Usually F2 but can be other keys. It should tell you on the bottom of the first screen which key to press to enter BIOS setup. If you don't know the settings the should be one for optimal defaults - use that one. You will also need to reset the time and date. Save, Exit and re-boot and everything should then work. During the boot process you will see on the screen to press delete to enter setup

I have a sound driver

Hi,
If you are sure to have installed the right drivers coming from your motherboard manufacturer, then the problem is not the drivers but the registry permission of your Operating System.
Download this file and save it to your C:\
Run it and wait for it to complete, it should fix the registry permission of your OS then test your sound again. Or if the sound is still flagged as not installed, install the updated drivers.
You can find the drivers here: driver link

My motherboard keeps on overheating @ 70C and over

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!

If the overheating is not due to hardware issue, faulty components, you can control the temperature by using Heat sinks and Temperature controlling fans, and by regulating a proper Air flow to the unit. For this, you can also use Cooler Master casing specially designed for high end purposes, or can use any such available brand to control the temperature...
Concerned.

Motherboard no detection when turn

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your "((MOTHERBOARD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE))" make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error even something as small as a faulty electrical extension or fan lead can cause this problem follow the troubleshooting procedure a computer needs all of the data and electrical current to travel through every device and to have an end to be able work properly

a motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive if its a flat ribbon 40 pin type IDE replace it this will be the first to fail check all electrical extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd floppy drives need to have current go through make sure these drives are working hope this helps also it could be a dirty computer clean all of the dust from your computer you could use a vacuum cleaner but whatever you use make absolutely sure there is no moisture gets to anything in your computer

also check the Cmos battery and computer ram make sure they are securely seated

hope this helps
