clean the heads, rotating head and audio head need to work together to read the speed of the tape also when recording there is a code it needs to read that is just out of the audio range on the tape and this is where the dirt from the tape can build up lp and xp use this area, standard play uses audio. but they all controlled by a processor to control motor speed.

If the take up spool is not turning properly it is not uncommon for the machine to eject the tape and turn off. Check the drive to that spool and correct.

Unplug all devices, reconnect rca or scart leads, replug and turn on equipment.

Generally something is damaged or wrong with the drive system, which might well be visible to the eye. But if you can't the only way is to take off the top cover and with an old tape try it and watch what happens.

may be your USB cable - not sure though, if you just purchased I would take it back and exchange for another. If you can't take it back you may want to purchase a new cable from Ionaudio.com and try that. they are about $6. Have you called them? their number is: 401-658-3743 and are usually very helpful.

I had occasional problems burning DVDs with this product, sometimes it would burn sometimes not. Since I downloaded the update at this location I have not had one issue since! good luck! this is the website for Ion audio and here is link to update:

I am not sure on this, but if it were me, I would go to Control Panel and Programs - Uninstall prgrams, look for ION EZ converter and either UNinstall it, or click that and then click Repair in window that comes up. then REINSTALL with your disk or dowload. reinstall the drivers and converter On the disk you get with the product there are 2 installations the first is the drivers the next which you have to do separately is the software program

you need to go to www.ionaudio.com and find your device VCR2PC - think its under audio video capturing. anyhow, then go to documents and downloads, then on that page go to bottom of page and find and download the VXBLOCKdll download and follow their instructions on installing it to your computer. also there is a troubleshooting PDF download that is very helpful

the VCR unit with this does not record if that is what you are referring to? it is only a Player

you can probably download this driver from the ION Audio website. Here are the instructions how: 1. got o ionaudio.com 2.click documents and downloads 3. next, click image conversion and video 4. then click all, then click your model (vcr 2 pc) 5. once the next page loads, scroll down and it will give you a list of drivers. here you need to download the program and the drivers. then everything should work! Reply with the results!

Have you still got the guarantee with the product? You should be able to take back your VCR2PC if its still under warrantee? The only issues I have had are when the tape isn't in code condition - plus the sound quality has never been the best through VHS compared to digital.
