The database in this circumstance I would assume is the Memory card

Haier HLT71 is a digital TV, that meanthis tv can recive digital broadcast.

A digital tv have 8 program each channel. Not like analog tv that only 1 program each channel.

So, if you want to save 1 channel , 8 channel will automaticaly saved as well.

Thats imposible to save or delete from your program.

This is a Star Trek GNDN USB mini port for the Haier factory to update the firmware (software stored permanently) in the TV.
If you return the set to Haier for servicing under the 90 days labor, 1 year parts warranty, Haier will probably just send you a refurbished unit.
Part of the refurbishment is for the Haier factory to update the software which runs this digital TV.
If you connect your computer to the port with the correct cable, nothing will happen.
No drivers or user mods (hacks) appear to be available.

If it's the only channel it seems it may be the channel that is being broadcasted.

It says no data base because it has not found any channels that are acceptable.Not all areas of the country or the world would have the same base of channels so that is why it has none when first used.It needs to scan the air waves to build the data base for its current location,if you were to move or take the HLT71 on a trip you would have to do this again. Also unless you live in a highly populated area you will need to use an outdoor hdtv antenna as the antenna that comes with it is not powerful enough.The TV is great but the digital technology used for broadcasting is just not that good yet. Is it a Haier remote? Haier customer service person says that no Haier flat screen TVs or, for that matter, DVD players, are set up to be able to work with a universal remote; only their older tube TVs do. The Haier remote must be used. So we all can stop trying to find the codes. It wold have been nice is the user guides had revealed this unfortunate absence of functionalityReplacement on the Haier website is $19.99 plus a load in shipping. I am not sure if your remote has a search code function, Most do. Check your instructions. I proceeded to go one by one through our remote's TV codes with the search code function, pushing the power switch after each code, until the set turned on.
