Kenmore 79012 / 79014 / 79019 Gas Kitchen Range - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Door locks and F9 fault codes
The F9 code indicates there is a problem with the door lock.
Try disconnecting the power to the range for 10 seconds and reconnecting. Open the oven door and hold the door switch plunger in while you try these things. Put the control into clean for 5 minutes then cancel clean. You must hold the door switch plunger in for the 5 minutes.
Try canceling the clean cycle without putting the control into clean.

I have a Kenmore Elite
The F30 error code means the temperature sensor probe is open. First check the wiring, then check the probe. And if necessary, switch to a meat thermometer instead of a sensor probe. F31 is the error for a shorted temperature sensor probe.
Burner does not light
The burner is not level ,or you need to adjust the air flow on the end of the burner.
Cleaning melted plastic from oven
i found this on the internet..
For a regular electric
oven: Place a bag of ice directly on the
melted plastic to chill it and make it more brittle. Then carefully, using a razor-blade scraper, lift off the puddle of
plastic. This procedure will not hurt an interior porcelain finish. For a regular gas
oven: First turn off the gas..

Low flame on left front burners high flame onright front burnners
That is food/grease buildup. Clean the holes. TURN OFF GAS to stove, then just clean the holes in the burners with a soft wire brush. Then turn gas back on and immediately relight pilot lights. If that sounds scary, call your gas company, they might come out and help.
How do i keep my gas range from sooting up
Sounds like the flame needs adjustment, they don't normally soot like that.
There is usually an air to gas adjustment somewhere.
In my area the gas company will do it free.
Hope this helps.
New kenmore gas range 790.7433 converted to lp and oven flames are way too high and produce lots of soot...how fix?
Do the rangetop burners act OK, Brenda? It's just the oven that's causing a problem?
Go back to the oven burner, right where you installed the new orifice. That orifice should fit inside an air mixture tube, probably stainless steel, leading to the burner itself. Right where the orifice fits into it will be some means of adjusting the air mixture - a sliding window of some sort, whether flat or round. You'll need to loosen the screw holding it in place (DO NOT remove the screw, only loosen it) and turn it so the air opening is larger. Right now you're getting too "rich" a mixture, too much propane & not enough air. Before you close it all up, try the oven again - see if your adjustment worked correctly. If not, adjust it again - this is a trial-and-error process, and it's different for every different altitude and climate.
At some setting, you'll get a nice blue flame with very little orange in it. If you live in a very high humidity area, you'll have much more orange color than people who live where it's very dry, but the flame should at least be MOSTLY blue, and should never be sooty.

I wouldn't. The plastic will give off some very acrid, toxic fumes if you try to self-clean it. First use a damp sponge to wipe up the baking soda. After that, you might be able to turn on the oven just a little bit to soften the plastic residue, then carefully, use a putty knife to scrape up the plastic residue from the oven floor. Please check the full model number of the range.
The F1 E3 error is one found on ranges made by Whirlpool. It indicates that the jumpers in the wiring harness have been set to a different cavity (oven size) then the one previously stored by the range. Check that jumpers are correctly configured to match the actual oven size.
If you haven't had any repair work done on the range recently, you should contact a service person.
The 79012 model number gives me full model numbers similar to 79079012100. Sears Parts Direct does not have parts for the range. However, I suspect the control board has failed.
I hope this helps.
