How can I simplify a fraction after adding two fractions?

Factor both the numerator and denominator, and then divide both the numerator and denominator by the greatest common factor. For example, 1/3 + 1/6 = 2/6 + 1/6 = 3/6. We have to simplify 3/6. The factors of 3 are 3 and 1. The factors of 6 and 1, 2, 3, and 6. The greatest common factor is 3. Dividing the numerator and denominator by 3 results in 1/2. Good luck. Paul

When I connect my calculator and via TI Connect

I have had TI connect for quite a while, and recently I started having the same issue. I'm running Windows 7. I was able to get it to work by forcing it to run in compatibility mode. To do this, you need to right-click on the program icon and click "properties". In the window that pops up, click the "Compatibility" tab, select the checkbox that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for", and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)" in the box below. Click OK and try to connect again.

I can't turn my ti-84 plus on.

TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen when the batteries are changed so that it appears as if the calculator isn't turning on. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the Up-arrow key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible.

Is 19/57 in simplest form

No, since 19 and 57 have a factor in common. Even though you didn't ask, that common factor is 19. Dividing the numerator and denominator by 19 gives 1/3.

Can't find fraction button.

Hello,
There is no fraction button, but if you divide two integers (whole numbers) and want to keep the result as a fraction press [MATH][1:|=>Frac] [ENTER]. If the fraction can be reduced to its simplest form that is the result you will have.
27/48 [MATH][1:|=>Frac][ENTER] displays 9/16
Hope it helps.
