The ink ribbon cartridge is either used up or missing.

Look for key or slide switch that says KBii press the code and that key or move the switck.

when the print head reaches the left side it touches a switch to cause it to inter the setup for the print wheel and ribbon mechanism

If you aren't in a language mode or KBII the printwheel homing pawl is probably broken. You need a tech.

Check to be sure the ribbon or L/O tape aren't tangeled in the P/W, check the P/W for bent spokes.

ML 100 takes a ribbon that should snap iin place.. front toward you first then back drops down....

I found a small piece of plastic caught under neath the carriage of my Brother GX-6750 Electronic Typewriter. The piece looks as if it slipped onto some type of small end cylindrical peg one sixteenth long and one thirty-seconds in diameter. The piece has a lip where it latches on to something and the other end is flat with a tiny edged lip. The middle piece is where some peg goes into it and the piece is one piece. The carriage works improperly and fails to type. The hammer mechanism won't move forward on it's pivot to punch the daisy wheel. When the keys get punched, nothing happens. I just bought the GX-6750 through ebay and it arrived that way today. I'm looking for suggestions to get it fully operable.

It is not uncommon for one of the wires to break in the set that comes from the keyboard to the printer
