Lighting Pilot Light -
I
Look at the burners, there will be a pilot. It should be in the front of the burners,in the middle or at one end.Find it first. It will be a small hollow tube. This pilot does not put out a big flame,so don`t worry about it gusshing a flame out.you will want to be ready with a match or a long lighter.A short lighter will do.Turn the knob to pilot.Push down on the knob, and light the pilot at the same time. Now when you do this, hold the knob down, and don`t let off the knob. The thermocouple has to heat up and sense the flame. And it will take about 30 seconds or so.When the time comes to release the knob,do it slow, and watch the flame,if it tries to go out, push it back down for about 20 more seconds. If it will not stay lit,you will have to make sure the thermocouple is touching the flame. The thermocouple has to be in the flame good to heat up.A small steel,or cooper tubing cut off, short, maybe 1/2 inch, can be dropped over the thermocouple to make the flame touch it,and accomplish this task.If the pilot will not light when you push down on the knob, then bleed the air out of the gas line,by holding the knob down far a while, and coming back to it ,to make sure there are no gas fumes around. It won`t be that much gas, just a little. But it is better to be safe.If I can help any more please let me know, and if this was at all helpful, please let them know, thank you.
