I took the throat plate off to clean my Imagine serger. When I try to put bak on it has to be pushed back down and is against a small piece, seems to be too close.

THROAT PLATES ARE HELD ON EACH SIDE WITH A SMALL PIECE OF METAL (SPRING). 1. PLACE THE PLATE AT AN ANGLE OF THE THROAT. 2. AT THE SAME TIME CAREFULLY PUSH EACH SPRING UNDER THE PLATE. 3. SLIDE THE PLATE TOWARDS THE AREA WHERE THE PLATE SHOULD FALL INTO THE LOWER POSITION.

How do I replace the throat plate on my Imagine serger? It seems to not want to fit and lay back down flat.

  • Set lower blade to widest width setting
  • Place differential feed on N
  • Remove Needles
  • Place back circular hole in plate onto the anchor screw(this should never be loosened)
  • Plate will set down flush
  • Reinstall the front holding screw.
  • Reset width control
  • Check lower blade height, per instruction replacement manual.

How do I replace the small metal bits that hold the needles in place

Needle clamp & screw and maybe the thread guide all screw together. The screw that holds the needle into clamp is all that hold this on the machine. Don't over loosen the needle clamp screw when changing the needle next time.

Sews too fast

Have actually solved the problem now. there is an on line page which describes pulling the foot switch apart and adjusting the speed control slider for a BabyLock Evolve machine and this solution worked perfectly for the Imagine despite dire warnings from the importer not to do this. Babylocker

Left needle on baby lock serger "imagine" skips

Change needles if they have done a few hours. Ales use ballpoint if seaming stretch fabrics. Also you can get EL 705 needles, which have a longer scarf (groove at back) which helps with the loopers catching the needle thread. Or SUK is the stretch type with this longer scarf Also if you are using cheaper thread cones, try a better quality with smoother finish and consistent weight, this will help too. However if this doesn't resolve issue, your looper timing might need adjustment.

Cutter blade remains locked.

when you release the blade, sometimes you have to reengage it manually, turn it to unlock, machine off (safety only) push up on bottom of upper blade until it stops. turn hand wheel and watch if blade is moving. If not repeat. When it moves your good to go.

What would cause by screen to go dark on my baby long crown jewell

Could be many things, I would check the Power supply on the left of the machine when you stand in front of it. Turn off power first, then remove 4 screws power supply will come straight off. look at attached wires and make sure all are attached firmly. If that does not fix it, take it to a service man.

Automatic threader does not take the thread. I

Open the front cover and raise presser foot to release all threads. Depress the machine lock button firmly with your left index finger. At the same time manually rotate the machine hand wheel slowly forward until he button "snaps" into the locked position and the lock button release lever moves to the far left.

Could you send a picture of what the blade and hook look like when they are put back correctly I think this would help. I think I may have put it back together incorrectly

The Baby Lock Imagine overlocker/serger is so easy to use and set up, you'll love it! The blade should be flush with the sewing bed when installed correctly. I'm not sure which part is being referred by "the hook", can you elaborate ... is it the loopers?? Here is the address for the manual http://pdfretriever.com/ref_sien.php?ID=2411572&lg=E&src=8
