Need repair manual for elna tsp. or info to repair

I would suggest that you join the Yahoo newsgroup called "Elna Heirlooms" then check out their "Files", one of the members may have this item scanned there for members to refer to. If not, there are some really experienced members too who may be able to help you with information on how to do this repair. But you'll need to specify which TSP, Elna made a TSP in the Star Series, and Stella air electronic and the bill air electronics too. Your side panel will have the model 2 digit number so just include that when you ask for help on Yahoo.

L have an Elna 1010 that has never been plugged in. Do I need to oil it before I use it? Is it ready to go after all these years?

check in the manual and see if it's self oiling or not,, some machine parts are soaked in oil from the factory & don't needto be oiled other machines have to be oiled,,if the manual doesn'tsay then contact elna customer service and ask them.I won't promise the machine will work or won't work if it's been sitting for years ,sometimes the grease can become sticky and hard. you'll be able to tell as soon as you start sewing, make sure you read the manual completely, that way you know what the machinewill do and what it won't do.always use the proper needle for the fabricand the proper foot if you go over a seam and the machine seems to struggle, take yourfoot off the foot pedal and use the handwheel to move the needlemanually over the seam, that way you don't bend a needle and causethe machine to jump time.also make sure to have a comfortable chair and good lighting anda good seam ripper just in case of a mistake.if you get frustrated while sewing, get up and walk around, that can help clear your mind, I've had to do that plenty of times and I've been sewing for 30 years. if you don't have a manual send me a comment and I'll try to find you one.there are several websites that have tutorials and other things for a quilter,,happy sewing

I have a old Elna

Is this the duplex model with the base that fits into a sewing cabinet?

My Elna booklet lists a SP "air electronic" duplex (CL.39), if so, then it would be same stitches as the 38, yellow front panel, 7 built in stitches and automatic knob with blue markings for buttonholing.

Here is the SU manual images for buttonholing, should be exactly the same for the SP.

tally_girl_4.jpg Instructions are:
use buttonhole foot. turn the 3 dials to buttonhole marked in blue (stitch selection, width and length).
Mark length of buttonhol on the material. Place work under foot with the mark in the middile fo the foot, the start being directly below the needle. sew the first side, raise the needle. Turn stitch width dial to 2, blue. Sew a few stitches for bartack. Raise the needle.
Turn stitch width dial to 3 blue. sew the second side. stop just short of the first side. Raise the needle.
turn the stitch width dial to 4 blue. sew a few stitches for bartack. Raise the needle.
Turn stitch width dial to "fastening off stitch" blue dot. Sew a few stitches, holding back the material by hand. Raise needle, lift pressure foot and remove work, triming off threads.
Open the buttonhole with your seam ripper (put a pin across the end to avoid any nasties).

I cant get my bobbin

Have you moved the bobbin spindle off away from the stop before you try to remove it? Most machines, the bobbin spindle will be flicked over against the stop to engage the bobbin winding mechanisim so you need to flick it back off the stop before you can remove the bobbin.
