I have found that my bobbin doesn't always click into place. In this case, it can stitch for about 4 stitches before freezing.

MOST LIKELY IT HAS LOTS OF THREAD UNDER THE PLATE AND A REPAIR SHOP IS NEEDED TO GET IT OUT

Contact your local Viking dealer. They will be able to tell you where the serial number is located.

I use to have the same issue. Then found out when I created the design in my software, I had a different hoop size selected that I needed. In other words, say I created a 100X100 design, but when I created it in my software I used the larger hoop size. The machine requires you to use the same hoop size as it was created with, even though it will fit in the 100x100 hoop. Hope this helps.

Sounds like the display is going bad.. it may need replacing. I they are very hard to find them and the dealer only wants you to buy a new machine. Sometimes you can find them on eBay. Good luck.

I used super glue to keep mine together. Just be careful you don't get it inside it

Can you clear it when taping the display?

It needs professional service unless you want to get in there and see what has come adrift in there. A linkage has lost a pin or a screw.

Is this a memory that worked previously in the same machine?

Regardless, try formatting another stick using the machine and not a PC.

Be sure the stick capacity does not exceed the maximum size supported by the machine.

I had this on an old Optima 180 never service before. Only a question of thread dust too trick. Cleaned by a pro and ready again!

Check all the connections from the battery to the starter. There is a loose or corroded one.

Likely top thread tension needs to be set higher.

With the additional layers it will take a higher top thread tension so the take up lever pulls the extra top thread from bottom side through the fabric stack before it takes it from the spool.

If youre not sure whether top or bottom thread that is nesting, try a different color top thread to make determination easier.
