Can't get part and cam for Necchi Supernova Julia

Try the Necchi Yahoo Group. There are members who often sell parts and they also are very knowledgeable and helpful.. You should also try eBay. They have parts for lots of vintage machines. You may not find what you are looking for right away but look often as things show up everyday. https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Necchi_Pfaff_Sewing_Machine_Collectors/conversations/messages?messageStartId=9&archiveSearch=true

Needles made for different fabrics - are soft needle have a low number (ex.silk fabrics) and a hard needle has a high number(ex.canvas) Make a test so you don't ruin the fabric or break the needles god Luck

Can't turn wheel

Check the area that contains the bobbin. There might be something loose in there. While you\'re in there, clean an oil this area. Also, open the end cover (left side of machine) and lubricate the swivel arm top and bottom and wait overnight for oil penetration; you can also use a hair blow dryer to speed this up. For oiling diagram, see:

Thread keeps breaking, Silk Fabric bunching u[

Machine breaks needles 1.make sure you are using the right needle for your type of sewing machine. Most machines can use generic Schmetz needles. There are cases where the machine will only use ones specified in the owners manual. 2.the presser foot may not be installed properly 3.use the correct needle for the type of fabric you are working with. To fine of needle on heavy fabric or to course a needle on silk or jersey can damage fabric. make sure the correct needle for silk is being used. 4.let the feed dogs guide the fabric & the feed dogs will work with the presser foot . 5.the needle is not all the way in -push all the way up against the stopalso clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for lint or loosethreadscheck to make sure the feed dogs are completely in the up positionif none of these suggestions work then it's possible that the machineis out of time & would have to retimed at a sewing machine shop

The main thread breaks when ever i go in reverse

If your upper thread break instantly, many chances are the needle was inserted in the wrong position. Or your spool of thread is too old.--------
make sure the machine is threaded proiperly with a good mercerised thread no thicker than a number 40, make sure the needle is in the correct way round, top tension about 4 or 5.------ The most common problems stem from incorrect threading of the upper thread or bobbin thread. Unthread your machine completely. Be sure that your thread is sturdy and in good condition. Replace your sewing machine needle as well. Burrs on the needle, a bent needle or incorrectly placed needle can cause many sewing machine problems. Re-thread your machine.Remove the bobbin ,clean it and replace. Threading errors cause incorrect stitch formation, skipped stitches and thread breaks.

-----------
This should help.thanks.Helpmech.

How do you refill your bobbin

I could'nt figure this out either at first as I've never seen one like this. Pull out the little hinged door on the upper right of the machine and there it is!.. the thread goes from the back over the top through the hole at the door and down to the base of the machine around that and then back up around the bobbin. When your done winding the bobbin close the door.

My machine started slowing down,

Hi most likely it is the Foot Controller that's at fault. This is the most commonest problem. Not the actual machine itself.

The "My machine started slowing down" is what gives it away, the ONLY thing that can cause a machine to slow down, is the controller, you most likely need to replace it, or at least get it looked at by a professional service man.

Take you machine in to a reputable servicing center for your brand and get them to look at it, ask for a "quote' for the repair.

If this doesn't prove to be the case then you may indeed have a seized motor, this would have to be replaced with a new one, that may prove quite expensive, however this will all be revealed after you get your "Quote". Which should explain what has been found, and how much it should cost.

My wife has a necchi

Hi

I had to open up the machine and figure out how the feed dog worked which was pretty easy. You will need a Phillips head to remove the protective cover on the bottom area of the sewing area, and the back of the machine that has the side with the presser foot lift or drop. Keep the screws in a bowl or a container to keep them from being lost and make sure you remember where the screws go...there are two that are removed that are different from the rest. Once you access the unit you will look into the bottom area and look at how the feed dog moves up and down....its okay to touch it. Once you see how it moves up and down you will also see that there is a black screw without a head on it that has an impression for a flat head screwdriver (a small one) and has a nut attached. When the screw is turned in either direction it lifts or drops the feed dog. The nut must be loose to adjust the screw and tightened once you raise it to the desired height. Make sure you try out the stitching before you close everything up as your bottom stitch will be affected if the feed dog it to high.

BTW take out the needle before you start messing with the machine so you don't hurt yourself.
And while you are in there, clean the lint out.

My kids lost my little brush and seem ripper that came with it, so I use a small paintbrush to clean out the machine.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

My Necchi 4595 has never really worked

I also own 2 necchi sewing machines, my mechanical is a 4595,,
lower thread tension
to test the bobbin tension, remove the bobbin case & bobbin & hold it by suspending it byb the thread, **** it once or twice, if the tension is correct, the thread will unwind by about an inch or two.
if the tension is too tight, it does not unwind at all, if the tension is too loose, it will drop too much.
to adjust the tension,, left is loosen & to the right tighten

thread breaks
rethread the machine making sure to get all thread guides
top thread tension usually 3 or 4
replace needle- make sure the needle is inserted correctly
some needles don't work with some thread, here's a tip

Cut 6-8 inch piece of thread of the spool you are going to use for your project
Take the needle you are going to use for the project
& insert the thread thru the eye of the needle
& lift one end of the thread to a 45 degree angle
& if the needle is the right size for the thread it will slide down the thread
But if the needle hangs on the thread you need one size larger needle for the thread

Why does the thread keep

check the needle to see if it's bent-roll on flat surface to see if it rolls correctly
thread tension maybe to tight-select lower number
sometimes the thread can get caught on the
1.spool pin
2.the notch on the thread spool itself
some times the thread will come off the thread take up lever
