Machine skips stitches on bulky items

Skipped stitches 1. The needle is not inserted correctlyRemove needle & reinsert needle( flat side towards the back of machine)2. The needle is damagedreplace with new needle3. The wrong size needle is being usedChoose a needle to suit the thread & fabric4. The foot not attached correctlyCheck & attach correctly

My bottom thread is making large loops, is the

it's to slack, try a 3 or 4 setting on the tension
& if you use your machine alot,, clean under the needle plate & bobbin area for loose threads & lint
using a can of air is helpful

I am having a noise as I sew. Its a klinking

Refer to your user manaual to see where the oiling spots are and what the manufacturer recommends; even the modern machines with nylon gears usually still have some metal moving parts which benefit from a little oil now and then.

Also suggest that you change the needle; machines need a new one every 4-6 sewing hours and a squeaking or poppping noise can be a blunt needle.

It is also beneficial to take a machine for a service at least every 3 years but more frequently if you use it a lot; you get the car serviced, the sewing machine loves one too.
