Just a note for people with Windows XP using the software for Singer Quantum Futura CE 200. I could not open the program, called a computer repair person, spent lots of money, restored my computer and it still would not work. I just happened to call the store where I bought the machine and "Oh, other people have been also calling about this". Well it turns out that the only problems was that Windows XP's new automatic updates do not support the software for opening the futura program. I had to just TURN OFF the automatic updates and it worked like a charm. $500 later and losts of frustration. I hope I might prevent others from going through this. Jonebone
i am having the same problem with the autopunch , i too am running win xp sp2 , i have downloaded the patch , i have turned off automaic updates . and tried the to completly disable it . i think we should write to singer this isnt gwtting our moneys worth its getting a headache . what u think . they should come out with better software , it works or a while but when you shutsown and try again at later point you have to re do all the installation . is there anyone we can write to ,since singer isnt helping find a solution . if anyone comes up with solution please post . i am going bananas , i love my machine but i want to be able to import my own designs . help ....

I have embroidered several things but am not having a problem with my embroidery unit. When I attach it to the sewing maching and turn it on it gives me an error 88 and the start button flashes fast red. Any suggestions?
Attach the hoop ONLY after you turn on the machine.

Our Software CD for the Singer Future CE-200 has become corrupted and the computer we had it installed on had the hard drive die. Now singer says that they don't have any replacement CDs. Is there somewhere I can purchase the software for download?

Dear, Sir/ Madam I just bought Singer Ce200 sewing & embroidery machine and have a problem installing the Futura software. Have been trying to find solution for the last two days and it has been quite a nightmare. I read hundreds of forums and feedbacks Wondered if you had an idea what the problem is and how it could be resolved! The PC I use is a actually laptop with Win Vista Home Premium. When I put the Futura cd it freezes at 100%, than I found the website which was ment to help installing it with Vista-www.futura-support.com- followed all the instructions and still can`t make it work. There is a message coming up and saying "Futura software is not installed in your computer. Install the application and repeat this set up". And that`s as much as it goes. I have tried it 5-6 times just today all the same result! Would be really greatful if you knew something more about It! I do not want to return the machine but if there is no possible solution will have to! Sincerely Verginiya
I found a solution that seemed to work for my setup (Vista-Futura 200): Go to the Futura support site www.futura-support.com . Choose "Service Updates" from the left-hand Menu. Choose "Quantum® FUTURA™ (CE-200) Owners running Windows XP Service Pack 2 operating system WITH one or more of the Options (AutoPunch, CrossStitch, PhotoStitch, and HyperFont) installed". Look for the bullet-point list in the explanations. It says there: "If you own the AutoPunch Option and you could not successfully install it, download the Service Update by clicking here." Select the highlighted link, download the patch and install it. Worked fine for me, I hope it helps you, too.

My Singer Futura worked perfectly until the other day. Now every time I open my software on my computer and connect my sewing machine to my computer it just says Connection Error Please make sure the usb cord is connected & try again. There's no help in the manual for this issue. I have tryed uninstalling and reinstalling the software two times. When I plug in the usb cord for the sewing machine, a pop up comes on my computer saying "new hardware" but I've installed the drivers for this machine. I've even installed the update on www.singerco.com can you help me?
My experience follows: If operating system is Windows Vista go to Singer Futura web site and down load a patch. Make sure you read and get the right one...This worked for me on one computer operating Vista...However, my laptop that is operating on Windows 7 and doesnt have the patch yet...from what I have read it is in the works waiting to be approved by Microsoft - Very Frustrating!

i bought a futura 150 but when i tried to down load software i got these error messages
can not run an x86 build of this utility on x64 platform
and this initializing driver failed
when i tried their web site and downloaded a windows patch to try and maually load drivers i got this message
windows found driver software for your device but encounted an error while attempting to install it CLEM a service section in this INF is invalid i took this machine back and have purchased a 350 and singer have assured me it will run on my pc they also told me this about the 150 my pc is a hewlett packard hp pavillion dv6500 notebook pc with a 3.5 windows rating
intel (r) core(TM) 2 duo cpu
t7100@180ghz 1.80 ghz ram 2038mb system 64 bit operating system
does this mean i can not use the software

After reading through your problem, I began doing some research. You are correct with your initial assumption. Singer at this time, does not support Vista 64bit Operating System. They will support it on Vista 32bit, but even then you would have to install it in what is called, "Compatability Mode." Unfortunately, it is not uncommon to have many vendors not have their software work on 64bit systems. Many programs/applications were only written to work on 32bit systems. Ocassionally, you will have a system work on 64bit, by almost pure accident. Here's the link for the system requirements on the Singer Quantum Futura. http://www.singerco.com/futural/qfutura.html

i downloaded the software and at first it kept telling me that it couldnt install the CLEM driver. I downloaded the patch & i'm not sure yet if that has worked or not (although im pretty sure it did) because now all of a sudden when i click the program, it tells me that my machine is not connected to my computer via USB/machine not turned on. when it is-i know it shouldnt be a problem with the USB cable itself because when i unplug either end of the cable-PC flashes on the screen of the embroidery machine. Please-any help???
This problem is with VISTA 64 bit. You need to load Vista 32 bit on your laptop. There are no 64bit drivers for the Futura CE 250. You will probably find this problem with other software too that doesn't specifically support 64 bit OS.

This forum is really designed for problems with the mechanics of sewing machines that are not working properly.
Your question seems to be asking about the construction technique of a particular Punjabi garment.
Unfortunately it is very unlikely that you will find a sewing machine mechanic who also sews to the level you require as most only repair the machines, not work with them.
I have done a quick Google on "How to make a Salwar" and these two may be a useful start.

Laptop with Windows XP died. New laptop is running Windows 7. When installing CE-250 software get this error: Cannot run an x86 build on this utility on x64 platform. Does this mean the software is not compatible with Windows 7? If so, when will update be available?
I just bought a new Futura CE250 & had the same problem.
I fixed my "can not run an x86 build of this utility on x64 platform" by visiting the futura support website & downloading a service update. I have a computer with Windows 7 installed.

Hi i keep getting the E1 error message flash up on the sewing machine, it still sews but it keeps stopping and the E1 error message comes up, what exactly is wrong with it? can you he;lp? Thanks
E1 means that your machine thinks the thread has broken.
There's nothing you can do to fix this: it has to go to an authorised Singer Service Centre for diagnosis and repair. Usually it's a faulty thread sensor.
