Singer CE-100 Futura Computerized Sewing Machine - Page 2 Questions & Answers
Is the Singer CE-1oo Futura Windows Vista
No it's not, All Singer futura users should be intitled to a 100% refund, or Singer should install new chips in the c-100's for former users. This is obsurb! you invest in the machine, and when the software upgrades itself, you are unable to use your machine. This is so awful

Being simple minded as i am, if your singer ce100 works the stitch looks good just be glad you are not having the problems so many are, if you want to see bobbin thread on bottom tighten top tension

Make sure you're plugging the USB cord into the BACK of the computer, not a USB port in the front of a USB hub. I found out from a PC guy at work that the ports in back have more power than those others and the USB cord for this machine probably needs more power. Had the same problem for months before he was able to help me-Singer doesn't have enough PC knowledge to know. Good luck!
I have a singer futura ce-250/ce-350 machine.
You need to do a tension test

Tension assembly test. To do this test. Pull the thread
through the tension assembly and test it to make sure the tension is working
correctly.
(To do this test, adjust your tension setting to normal or medium or 5 or
something in the middle. Raise the presser foot and pull the thread through the
tension. It should pull easily!! Lower the presser foot and pull the thread. It
should pull noticeably harder.)
If it doesn’t work this way then you probably have a piece
of thread or lint stuck inside the tension discs. To remove it, turn the
tension to 0 zero and raise the presser foot.Using a small screwdriver, open
the space between the discs and spray with canned or compressed air. The stuff
should come out. Do the tension test again to make sure you got everything and
then try sewing again.

How do I use the Singer xl 1000 adjustment mode?
You have the CE-100 listed, but your question is regarding an XL-1000, so I'm not sure which you're referring to. Regardless, you can download the user's manual free from the Singer Sewing Machine website; if it's the XL-1000, you can also download the workbook free as well.
Bobbin fill with a design in progress
I'm not totally sure what you're asking, but I'm assuming you're asking how to replace an empty bobbin if you're in the middle of a design. Take the hoop off, but for heaven't sake, DO NOT remove the fabric from the hoop, replace the bobbin, bring the bobbin thread to the top, and put the hoop back on. You should then back up in the block by pressing the reverse button right above the light button, with a "U" next to it--it will reverse the stitches. Back up about 20 stitches before you press the green button.
Now, here's the gotcha. If you bumped or moved your arm even slightly when you removed the hoop, it can throw off the design placement. To get around that, after you have replaced the bobbin, but before putting on the hoop, turn the machine off and then on again. This may "blow" or exit the design in the program; so just put the hoop back on, retransmit the design, and then use the arrow key on the machine navigator on the PC to go back to the block you were doing, and then use the ADVANCE button to go to where you were. The advance button is just ABOVE the reverse button. When you're to that point in the block, press the green button and it will resume sewing.
I have a futura ce 150 and my bobbin thread won't catch
Are you able to bring the bobbin thread to the top of the needle plate, but it's skipping stitches, or you can't "catch" the bobbin thread to start sewing at all.
If you can't "catch" it at all, your machine's hook is no longer synchronizing, and you will need to have it retimed by a technician. The good news is, timing is not something that is unique per manufacturer, which means ANY sewing machine technician should be able to do it.
What causes the future ce 100 to only sew backwards?
The forward and backward movement is governed by the feed dogs, which are controlled by a cam on the main shaft and powered by a motor. If the cam gets stuck, it will only sew in reverse. You need to have your machine serviced. It may or may not need a new cam; it's possible that only lubrication and service are necessary, but one way or another, the repair should be done by a technician. It does not necessarily have to be done by a Singer technician, though; those are common parts.
Thread breakage sensor
Select in the main Futura menu Help->Machine setup Tutorial, lesson 10b, the balloon shows the proper position of the upper thread inside sensor checked area.
