If the light is steady, check the paper in your paper tray (or bypass tray, if that is currently selected). Add paper. If there is paper in the tray, try putting fewer sheets in the tray. If the tray is too full, sometimes the printer can't pick up the paper. Similarly, if the tray is nearly empty, try adding paper. Next consider taking all of the paper out and refilling the tray with paper from a new (just opened) ream. If the paper picks up atmospheric moisture, it can warp and be hard for the pick up rollers to handle. If these steps don't solve the issue, the problem may be the paper pickup rollers themselves. The printer may need service. (If it is under warranty, contact the manufacturer.) Hi, Please double check that your printer firmware is up-to-date. You might need to visit the manufacturer website (Sharp) and update the firmware if you haven't done so in a few weeks/months. Thank you.

Probably the lamp light is flashing because either the lamp has failed or there is a fan issue. Purportedly, H4 refers to heat lamp problems, either broken heat lamp or dirty thermostat on the heater roller assembly. It may be referred to as the fuser temperature error. It may also be a false reading and just need clearing. If it is simply toner caked on the temperature sensor, such has to be scraped off. If a false reading, you can try to clear it with the following. Press P-interrupt-C-interrupt and enter test command 14 and Execute to clear your error. Or try Press this sequence: CLR-Exposure-CLR-Exposure; The display will go blank; enter "14", press "PRNT"; Press "CLR" several times to exit. Also, you can try turning off the machine for 30 seconds and then turning it back on to see if it clears the problem. If none of this works, it may be a bad thermistor (a resistor) on the temperature sensor.

hi If you lift up the panel and look underneath there are two black plastic "levers" one to the right and one to the bottom of the black roller. The larger one on the right was stuck. When I pushed on it and it popped up the "document jammed" message disappeared.

This could be fixed by cleaning the glass lens on top of the copier, which would make sure that your paper comes in contact with only one spot of light as you press your keys. This way, there will be no distortion from multiple spots hitting the same place on your paper.
