You should tell the manufacturer as it is obviously a generic problem if there have been recalls. Ask them what they are prepared to do for you. You must put it in writing, no use using the phone.
I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply.

Dishwasher will not drain. We

Hi

Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump.
Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

Water is coming from the bottom

Take off the panel at the bottem of dishwasher and find leak. If leaking from water supply connection try to tighten it first. If that does not work turn off water under sink and replace warter supply line. You can get a easy to handle braded line at you local hardware store. Replace other leaking parts at www.repairclinic.com.

The soap is not coming

Hi
Dishwashers use Bi-Metal strip to allow the dispenser to open/close. This strip when heat up causes the soap door spring to open up the dispenser. If this strip is not heated doesn't allow the door to open. The strip may not be getting 120V or maybe disconnected. Newer (plastic liner) dishwashers use a wax motor to open the soap dispenser. The plunger inside the wax motor slowly moves and pushes the plunger and door open. And, if this wax motor doesn't receive 120 volts, then it'll not work. Please check the voltage to the wax motor/Bi-metal strip; also inspect the connections to these. Hope this helps...

Smoking not electric smell but different odor

You should call a trained serviceman. You don't want to end up with a fire. If you want you can also look at the element it should be a circle of metal at the bottom of the dishwasher (It is suspended by hangers of some type so it doesn't touch the plastic sides of the dishwasher). If you have hard water buildup on it it may look like there is a smooth cement-like coating on it. That can smell when the element heats up. Also, does it smoke and/or smell if you don't allow the dry cycle to run? If you don't have the money now to have a serviceman look at it, you probably should shut the power off to it and wash your dishes by hand till you have the money.

DIshwasher won't start. Start/Reset button

Hi

It seems you have some dirt or debris stuck in the little pump that pumps the water out of the dishwasher. To get at the pump you will remove the lower front panel and follow the drain line down toward the floor, there u will see that the drain line is connected to a small pump. You have to disconnect the drain line and remvove the two screws that hold the pump to the frame. look in the pump and you will see your problem debris, sometimes a chunk of glass or bone can be stuck.Remove it and put everything back in order and your dishwasher will start functioning.

However if the above steps doesnt get your dihwasher run I can suspect there's a fault with the main control board.
However you can try a reset on it to see if it will recover.

Switch the machine off.
Switch it on and don't wait for any lights, as soon as you press the on button, press the programme button 4 times within 3 seconds.
You have to be extremely quick to do this.

If successful the two end lights will come on flashing.
Press the programme button once, the first light will go out.
Switch off and wait 20 seconds, switch on, as the lights come on, switch off again. Wait another 20 seconds. Switch on and you should be able to select a program.

please let us know if this has solved your problem.
do let us know for further query

Leak from dishwasehr drain

Creilly, there is a clamp that holds the boot to the sump. It might be where you are leaking. This is not too complicated of a deal. You can either pull the dishwasher out to inspect it or drop the motor and pump assy with the boot attached. I have removed the pump and motor assy. by removing the drain hoses, disconnecting the wire harness. On the inside tub you would have to remove the filter screen and sump filter. The boot that clamps to the pump will be exposed. Push it in, remove the motor hanger, fold the boot over and pull out. As long as you have a couple inches of clearance from the motor bottom to the floor you can do it that way. To answer the first question, this is not a common complaint. Catriver..post back.

I have a GE dishwasher model GLD4908T10BB and the light is on for rinse only but does not turn on and will not let me change the settings?

Try a power disconnect from the mains for 5 minutes and then plug it back in. It that doesn't fix it, the problem will be the main control board. Many parts are obsolete. https://www.google.com/search?q=GLD4908T10BB ..

Ge dishwasher lower rack doesn't get clean

I have spent all my career in the catering and food industry with dishwashers of all shapes and sizes. The usual reason for this can be two fold.First make sure that the bottom spray arm spins freely. For various reasons they can stick and that means the spray only hits one place. If you spin it, it should spin at least 2 revolutions. Even if it does....Remove the bottom spray arm. The thing that makes it spin is the angled jets in either end. They will often block with debris, and the worst is lemon pips and cocktail sticks, even fluff. No one knows how fluff gets in there, but it does. At my last job at a VERY busy airport lounge putting literally hundreds of baskets through a day, the two filters had to be de-fluffed every day. The problem at home is that the fluff solidifies between uses. So look at those end two jets, poke with something and put water in from the jet end rinsing to the big hole in the centre. Put the plug in the sink so you can see what comes out. The turn the arm over and force a good jet of water into the big centre hole and it should show as a good jet at the ends. Then put the arm back and make sure it spins.Your machine has a strange item called a 4 port diverter valve. This part concerns me a bit as it appears that it may be supposed to move or at least has to be in the correct orientation. Some items like this have a rubber flap that really does divert the flow. Once gain, some type of debris can ruin its function. It looks easy enough to remove.504 - Diagram Number FOUR PORT DIVERTER AND PLUG ASSEMBLY WD19X26398https://www.geapplianceparts.com/store/parts/assembly/PDT715SYN3FSAnother trick is to whip the door open mid wash if it doesn't have a safety lock and see what the arm is doing and if it is spraying well.I hope this is more use than our friend Umar Waheed! Why is my GE dishwasher drain solenoid continuously burning up?

There could be a few reasons why your GE dishwasher drain solenoid keeps burning up:
  1. Overloading the dishwasher: Overloading the dishwasher can cause the motor to work harder, which in turn can cause the drain solenoid to burn out.
  2. Improper installation: If the drain solenoid is not installed correctly or there is a wiring issue, this can cause the solenoid to burn out.
  3. Clogs or blockages: If there are clogs or blockages in the dishwasher's drain line or garbage disposal, this can cause the motor to work harder and burn out the drain solenoid.
  4. Electrical issues: If there are electrical issues with the dishwasher, such as a short circuit, this can cause the solenoid to burn out.
To troubleshoot the issue, you may want to start by checking the dishwasher's drain line and garbage disposal for any clogs or blockages. You can also check the dishwasher's installation and wiring to ensure everything is properly connected. If the issue persists, you may need to consult a professional appliance repair technician to diagnose and fix the problem.
