Internal battery (601)

This means you need to replace the laptop battery as it can't hold a large enough charge. You only see this when the battery capacity drops below about 25% of new. So instead of a few hours or more of running on the battery you may now may only have minutes.

There are several ways to get a good low cost replacement. These are usually HP batteries anyway so the difference in the price. It pays to shop around both on the net and off. As an example on one battery I was quoted about $160 from the local chain store (Office despots or something) and then I found several batteries online for $75 (exact same one) and finally I called a local battery store and they sold it to me for $77 and I didn;t have to pay shipping.

What does the internal 601 Battery do, and how to replace it

Do you use your power off the mains at all (not plugged in) It will be the main battery for the laptop. If you always leave your laptop plugged in there isn't much point in getting a new battery. Perhaps you can turn off the error message on startup?

Installing windows 7 on hp pavilion d7 1120wm not permitted

I know this is common in Windows 8 PC's, never saw it in Vista. I would recommend upgrading the BIOS if an update is available from HP. Really makes no sense as Win 7 is based on Vista's framework. According to HP, they made 20 versions of this model, if you can get back to me with the complete model number (from the sticker on the bottom) that would be a big help.

Internal battery error 601 is displayed what is

1. This error is about the primary (main) battery, not the small CMOS one..2. You may remove the primary battery from the laptop and use the laptop as a desktop using only a power cord. The battery doesn't have to be installed in the laptop and the error shouldn't be coming back then..I would upgrade the BIOS first, it could be a bug and a newer BIOS might fix it..

After pressing the power button, my HP dv7-1129

Hello,

try taking the battery out, unplug the DC cable and hold down the power button for 30 seconds this will get rid of the static on the motherboard which could cause the problem.
After you have done this put the battery back in, then the DC cable then try to turn it on.

If not it could be your battery because you are getting an indication that you are receiving power, try taking the battery out and just plugging in the power cable.

Hope this solves the problem.

The machine wont boot, when i press on it bilks

If you have the HP Computer then the Recovery has two option one is Destructive Recovery (Data Loss) and Non - Destructive (Data Back-up). You just need to Press F11 as soon as the computer restart. Then follow the on screen instruction and choose the option accordingly.

HP Pavilion dv7-1129wm blank screen

If your laptop screen is not working and is blank, you are out of luck as far as working on your computer. However, while there may be a major problem you need to troubleshoot, there are some easy solutions to keep in mind as well, such as brightness settings and your power source.

1. Check the power source. While you have presumably already attempted to turn your laptop on and off, the problem may lie with your AC power adapter. Is the power-indicator light on the adapter on? If not, your problem may lie here. However, whether or not you have a power indicator light on your adapter, consider unplugging it and plugging it into another outlet. This may turn on your laptop and take care of your blank-screen problem.

2. Check your brightness settings. While it seems like a simple oversight, the brightness on your laptop may sometimes be turned all the way down. Thus, the screen appears to be black, off or defective, when the problem is simply that the brightness is on its lowest setting. To fix the brightness, check your laptop keyboard. Most laptops have the brightness settings mapped to two keys at the top left of the keyboard, accompanied by a symbol (often a sun). Use these keys to fix your brightness, but keep in mind that some laptops require that you press the Function key at the same time as the Brightness key.

3. Check the status of your laptop battery itself. There should be a battery indicator on the laptop that is connected to the battery. This indicator is either on the bottom of the laptop or (likely) on the side. If there is no indicator, your battery itself may be the problem, and may require replacing. Keep in mind that older batteries of the nickel-cadmium variety are more likely to decharge over time and forget their initial maximum charge level; this may be a particular issue to users of older laptops.

4. Find a VGA connector and hook up your laptop to an external monitor if the above steps have not alleviated the blank-screen problem. Turn on the computer and the external monitor. Does the external monitor light up? If so, the blank screen is likely due to a video subset problem/LCD problem in your laptop.

5. Consider that a deeper problem may exist if the external monitor did not light up This problem may lie in the motherboard. In this case, taking the laptop to a professional repairman or sending it off to the manufacturer is recommended.

I hope you find it very helpful. Best regards from fixya

If its above 2 gb most older laptops won't because the card is in FAT and not FAT 32. cards 4 gb and over are written differently you can hook your camera up to your computer and transfer then that way or purchase a HCSD card reader for higher capacity cards.
