It's not possible to be 100% certain with your information but I will follow the following sequence; first take out all the spark plugs and inspect if they are too dry or with metallic residues (this could tell you about a big failure in the cooling system or lubrication and a possible mayor engine failure) , second try to run the engine with the starter, it has to run very easy without any strange metallic noise. apparently you run your waverunner without correct lubrication or water cooling circulation and the engine was over heated.

You can not test any power pack. You have to test all other ignition components first. If all components test good it could be a bad powepack. First thing first, check ground wire, check all grounds. Make sure no carosen, or loose bolts. Your also want to ensure wire to terminal has a good connection.

Mabe you need to add a stroke or take one away.

There is NO idle speed control... The idle speeds is automatically regulated by a valve system piloted by the ECU. You have an eventually 'trolling speed setting' with electronic rev-counter.

Which alarm is sounding? Oil or overheating? You need to figure this out first! ... Is the water coming out of the spout high pressure or can you hold your finger over it and stop the flow? If you can stop the flow, you have a bad water pump impeller. If not... you are probably getting good water pressure. If your oil tank is full, the low level sensor is dirty or bad..this will cause the alarm..Fix each of these and repost.

hey Chaser2 Have you tried to turn it over with the spark plugs removed and in neutral? This sounds "fishy".. remove the cowling... spark plugs OUT... try to turn it over.. see which way the flywheel tries to turn..THEN try turning the engine (KEY OFF/IGN OFF) by using your hand on the flywheel.. DO NOT turn it backwards,,,you will "kill" the water pump impeller.. IF you cannot turn the engine over by using the flywheel. you should be able to "feel' what's happening.. If you feel the pistons or rings are stuck... try liberally spraying some WD40 into the cylinders through the spark plug holes... reinstall the spark plugs and let it sit until tomorrow... If it is still locked up, you can always remove the head and see whats happening.. all you will need is a new gasket... and some Permatex 80064 High Tack Spray-A-Gasket Sealant. DO NOT use any form of silicone sealant - PERIOD!!!!!!!!!! After you have sone all this, reply to me and let me know what you have found... thanks

Hey Kenneth, PLEASE take this engine to a qualified professional... it will be cheaper in the long run!!

If it's a 2-stroke, have those carbs cleaned... Then check if he runs on all 3 cylinders.

You might have 2 bleed the system 2 make sure their is no air in the system

the weight of the motor will be obtainable from the Yamaha web site in the specifications section the weight of the boat is any body guess as you didn't give a manufacturer name most marine shops will get close as they are familiar with boat constructions and supply trailers to suit

The supercharger is powered tru a clutch system. So, even if the clutch slips, the engine will be hard to turn around.

How long has it been since you changed your water pump? The pressure relief valve can also cause over heat issues if it is stuck.

Hey Frank, has anything happened to this outboard? It might just be time for new spark plugs..if it is not running well, it might be time for a carb clean and set. ..no biggie.

There is no setting possible. The ecm monitors the combustion quality and adjusts the timing following the results. It works with "ionic combustion sensors" - adapted for the first time on an outboard. They monitor combustion conditions by detecting the production of ions in the flame. The ECM adjusts the ignition timing based on the ion density to improve combustion.

The supercharger is connected to the engine thru a clutch. I think it should slip in case the charger is stuck. But maybe not enough to allow the electric starter to turn the engine. Did you try to turn the engine by hand with removed spark plugs? If the supercherger is stuck it should be possible to wiggle the kranckshaft a little ( play on the command gears and clutch of the charger) Please give us the right Waverunner type...
