When I turn on my

Hello. the F2 error code is often a false alarm. F2 is supposed to indicate that the oven temperature exceeds 590 degrees with an unlocked oven door. In most cases, this is a false reading and the fix is to replace the oven temperature sensor. The sensor is about $44.00 at Searspartsdirect.com. And it is an easy fix.

4 thumbs up please. ty

My self-cleaning oven has been on for 2 1/2 hours.

If the model number you listed this question under is correct, the Clean cycle time NORMALLY takes about 4 hours and 20 minutes. You can adjust the cleaning cycle time between 3 hours and 5 hours and 59 minutes, using the HOUR and MIN pads. Once the cleaning cycle is complete, and the oven temperature cools to a safe temperature, the latch can be opened.

These instructions are listed on page 24 of the owner's manual. If you no longer have an owner's manual, you can obtain a FREE copy at managemylife.com. For your convenience, here's a direct link:

Self Cleaning light comes on and flashes when you turn on oven!

It sounds like you have a defective Oven control module. (TO8 Control) is the part that controls all oven functions including clean, clock, timed bake, ect. Item is easy to replace yourself.

Oven delays lighting then has small explosion when

The problem is usually the igniter not reaching the correct amp draw .When the igniter does not reach the correct amp draw it may allow the gas valve to partially open or not open at all. The igniters are inexpensive and easy to replace. This video will walk you thru the correct procedure for testing an oven igniter. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. Not all models are available. All parts come with installation instructions.

BROILER ELEMENT WOULD NOT TURN OFF WITH OVEN

I just had the same problem! I would not have known that the broiler was still on, since the red light was off, except that the oven got so hot that the drips started to burn. The only solution was to turn off the circuit breaker.

This sounds like a serious safety issue!

My guess so far is that there is a broiler relay that has shorted in the on position and will need to be replaced. Until then I cannot use the stove or oven.

Ge spectra bake element replacement, have rec'd

Hi,

Take the 2 screws out of the back wall of the oven (inside) holding the element on. Then pull the element out and it will expose the wires and terminals (2). Unplug the 2 wires and plug them on the new element and mount the element back in the oven and your fixed. (make sure to turn the power off to the oven before you start unplugging wires.

Oven want heat only on

This sounds like a thermostat problem on the oven. It could also be a control unit though unfortunately. It is definitely indicative of a hardware failure inside the oven though and is not something you can remedy without replacing parts. I would recommend you have an appliance person come do it for you, it is not a simple repair by any means. That and they will be able to determine which part it is by swapping them out until the one works, there is no other way to know for sure. That equates to it being fairly expensive for you to try and do yourself unless you happen to get the right part on the first try.

But if you really want to, try the control unit first, then the thermostat. They can be found here, the control unit is labeled as T08 control on this page, but you can also see how complicated it is..:

The bottom coil doesn't heat

Very simple problem. The coil or heating element or unit bake need to replace.
Here is a link you see the parts diagram of your oven abut you can also order the element also.
However in your model JBP78 there are some more letters after 78. You find them and make a new search at the same page in order to be perfect match of the part.

Oven and burners stopped workin

Hi, i think you have a faulty 220 volt power connection. The oven is getting 110 volt power instead of the normal 220 volt and this is not enough to make the oven and burner work. The 110 volt can turn on the range but cannot make the oven and burner work..

Check and tighten all the electrical connection on the oven
