HTS22GBMARCC freezer works fine, fridge barely

ok your on the right track . the 12 volts that your found is only a part of the diag . think "" you have four wires ( why ) .. this is a engery eff?? model i belive and the compressor will run ad several speeds and so do the fans . so if fan is milti speed like the compressor in may not be going because the main control board is not telling it to .. look in the back and there is a cover over this board . remove it . now smell of the burn if your can smell it of if its clicking during the run it may be bad . now i would replace it because of what you said . and i think your problem s solved .. some time the sensor in freezer could cause this but its rare.. do the board first . mm ot a cheap part .. hope this helped ..

I have a hotpoint refrigerator, model number

Good day,
The only moving part in the freezer is the fan motor. Unless the fan blade broke one of it's blades you will need to replace the motor with a new one. They are not repairable. At the same time buy a new blade as well, since an out of balance blade could have started this problem.
To access the motor, remove the ice maker, if it has one (3 screws and an electrical plug. The cube tray holder if not).
Remove the screws from the back panel, and remove the panel.
The motor change is a straight nuts and bolts job and fairly easy.

Any decent sized appliance parts house will carry the motor and blade. Take the model number with you.

Where do I find the model number on my Hotpoint

In the last few years GE has placed the models serial label on the top center, top left or top right of the fresh food section. Older models had it behind the fresh food door at the bottom or behind the grille. Also there were a couple of years they placed it behind or to the side of one of the lower drawers.

Sorry about all the different locations. That's just how they did it.

Thanks.

Why does my fridg leak

Door gaskets that are worn or broken will allow for air to get into the ice box and excessive moisture will build up. If you need further help, reach me via phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/dan_73bbd84fe1d95b61

If the drain catch tray is full the unit will overflow. Look underneath in the rear/fron of bottom the fridger to remove and empty the catch tray. If there is food or debris in the bottom of the fridge (drain grates) it will keep water from going down.

Water still getting to wrong places

No, what it sounds like is that your ice maker solenoid valve is not shutting off completely, allowing water to keep flowing and flooding everything. Replace solenoid valve, which is located at back botton of refridge, your house water line hooks up to it, then it goes to ice maker. This will solve your problem .

Same problem...same fridge.

Find the correct cleaning brush. I found one at the dollar store by chance. Local hardware may have one also. You are looking for a long slender brush that resembles a under sized bottle brush, about 3/4" across the bristles, 18 to 24 inches long would be best. Unplug the frig. Vacuum out all of the dust possible, then use the brush to carefully clean between the coils Do not force the brush, sometimes twisting as you go works good. The coils are accessable either behind toe kick on front of frig or from the back, remove access panel to clean.

GE TFX26KRDA WW 2001 side by side refrig/freezer w warm fridge

Cleaned the condenser coils which were dusty but not severely so. Checked the evaporator coils which were NOT iced. Reset the fridge to coldest setting and freezer to #5 (mid range of temperature) and waited a full 36 hours. Fridge temp is 40 F and freezer is about 0F. Not sure what is different except coldest setting on fridge. Warm weather is here but not warm enough to require AC. Temps in late afternoon in house about 77-80F. Any thoughts are appreciated because I suspect this problem is not completely resolved.

GE 27 CF side by side warm in fidge side

Ice on the back wall indicates a problem with the defrost cycle. The ice builds up and starts to choke off the air flow, so your symptoms would indicate that may be happening.

Defrost problems are usually any of the three components, the heater element, the defrost termination temp switch, or the defrost timer.

Freezer not freezing

when the freezer is not freezing, check the fan and fan motor in the freezer section. It should be running when the compressor is running. Check for frost. If you see frost on the rear inside panel, the frost is usually about 3 in. thick on the inside. Check and make sure the fan next to the compressor is running, if your's has one. It will run when the compressor is running. Check for gaps in your door gasket. If there is no frost, both fans are running, compressor is running, and no gaps, and your coils outside the refrigerator are clean, it doesn't sound good.
