Pentax Zoom 105-R Film Camera - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

On the lcd it shows

This question has been answered repeatedly. Pentax error codes are mostly for camera repair technician diagnosis and most of the time mean the camera is broken and needs professional servicing. Some Pentax Error Codes:
E: "E" often indicates a film jam. This code can appear when the film is inserted incorrectly, when the batteries are changed in the middle of a roll of film, if you are using defective film, etc. If "E" appears in your camera's information display, try to rewind your film manually (see your user's guide for instructions on how to activate your mid-roll rewind function), and try a different roll. If this problem keeps occurring, you might need to send the camera to us for repair.
E3, E7, E37: These codes often signal a problem with your shutter mechanism.
E9, E93-E97: These codes may indicate a problem with your zoom lens.
H0-H9: These H codes can also identify a problem with your camera's shutter.
U1-U9: These U codes may also indicate a problem with your camera's zoom lens.

These codes are standard for both Digital and film cameras.

Hi there, I just got myself a K1000 Pentax camera, as a gift. I'm not a collector nor photographer, I just wanted to know more about this camera its value and if one can just keep it as a collectors item. I noticed its different from all the ones I've seen so far, it has no sahai LOGO like the others.. It is fairly new... Kindly advise accordingly.

You have yourself a camera with pedigree and it would be a shame not to put a few rolls of film through it before you decide whether to continue to use it, store it as a collectible or sell it on. Using a manual film camera is interesting and rewarding and can be fun - it is an experience no one should miss. Like learning to drive, at first there seems too many things to think of but with the help of a little reading most people soon master the basics. There is plenty of information online - see link below... https://www.google.com/search?q=K1000+Pentax+camera&rlz=1C1CAFB_enGB673GB676&oq=K1000+Pentax+camera&aqs=chrome..69i57&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 Have fun!

Why don't they just download what you ask? they give all but what you ask. I want the simple operating instrusions for Pentax SLR camera

Who, exactly, are 'they' ? There are many models of Pentax SLR camera, both film and digital, and there is a different manual pertaining to the care and operation of each of these. If you go to the Pentax Service Centre relevant to your place of residence, all the available manuals will probably be there. If the one that you require is not available, you may find it by doing a Google search for the make and model, followed by the word Manual.

Flash on all time in auto

Please, which camera model? Are we talking about the external flash or one built in? If it is built in the camera may think there is not enough light thus setting the flash to fire. That is what auto does, it takes all the decisions away from the camera operator.

I have a pentax zx-60 that is showing an error message o_ _ _ _ with an E on top of that. I'm not sure what it means or how to fix it. I tried reloading the film and it doesn't seem to advance.

I think the 'o____' is intended as a pictorial representation of a roll of 35mm film, the 'E' signifying an error in loading it. Not used this particular Pentax model myself, but some of them have a slot in the take-up spool where the 'tongue' of the film should be inserted - is that the case with yours ?

Nikon d40x exposure problem

I assume that this is a film camera that has light meter. It could be that the camera is set to a different film sensitivity than the actual film. For example, the film is 400 ASA but the camera is set to 100 ASA.The sensitivity rating of the film is written on the film box and on the film cartridge. Make sure you set the film ASA number on the camera too.

Recently after putting the film in and taking pics

Probably.  Most cameras give you a mark to which you pul out the film leader.
If your cam is one of the power load/wind/rewind models then you must pull the leader right up to the mark
If is one of the older ones with an advance lever, then you can watch the rewind crank to see if it revolves when you wind on.  If it does not, then you have not engaged the film in the take-up spool properly.

What does the E mean

If you go to http://www.pentaximaging.com/support/manuals-and-literature/ you can find the manual for your camera. From my experience the E on a Pentax camera means the film isn't loaded properly. Hope this helps.

My Pentax IQZoom 115v overexposes

First, here's a link to a free download of your camera's manual in case you've lost yours.

On page 16 of the manual, it states that in addition to using DX film of ISO 100 to ISO 400:

1) Color negative film is recommended.
2) Non-DX film cannot be used - but then says if it is used, set the film to ISO 100.
3) ISO 400 film is recommended.

Page 25 and forward detail exposure Modes. This should be your next area of interest in the manual. If you are unable to to solve the problem at this point, there may be an issue with the aperture of the lens being stuck open - or the shutter remaining open for too long. Either way, it will probably need to be serviced professionally to get it working again. You might consider replacing this camera as repair costs may exceed the value of the camera.

I hope this helps and good luck! Please rate my reply - thank you.
