Sounds like there is air in the line. Have you tried running the water for a few minuets?

Makes no difference what number you set it at. Usually about half way on the scale is a good place to start.

I have a GE Profile PSW26P Stainless Steel Side by Side refrigerator that makes plenty of ice but will not dipense when the lever is pushed. The dispenser makes not sound when engaged. What do you think the problem is.

it sound like the drain pan and the drain line need cleaned or maybe the drain tube got knocked out of the pan, take a light and look and see what you find down there and let me know.

check power on it.

Fist thing you want to do is unplug pull away from wall and remove the cover that covers the motherboard. Then try to loosen by squeezing the plastic tabs that hold the mother board in place pull the board away just enough to expose the back side. Tell me if you see burn marks that are sometimes visible on boards when they become defective. What I want to find is if the high voltage side has failed powering the low voltage side or you just mayhave a defective control panel. Are lights out on the dispenser control panel? clip on bottom of hinge is worn or broken had mine replaced. magnetic seals are not strong enough to hold the door closed on their own. Original problem was the magnets were too strong so the clip on the bottom hinge was added.

In back of the refrigerator behind a removable panel you will find a hose going into the drain pan under the refrigerator. Check and make sure there is no obstruction in the hose which would back up water into the freezer. After the drain hose is cleared the freezer should be defrosted and ice cleared from the drain area in the back. You can direct some hot water with some bleach in it through the drain to insure it flows into the pan.
