Stopped working
you have had a power surge which has fried something , probably relay .
Hot at the bottom of fridge
Check the condenser fan located behind the fridge. If it's not spinning right, it may need to be replaced. Also check to see if the defrost heater in the freezer side is making sizzling noises all the time.
I have a GSS25PSMF BS

Temperature and adjust refrigerator panel does not work.
problems exist in its electronic control panel that is damaged, this problem should be solved by replacing one block electronic circuit in the control panel. damage is usually caused by a memory of the troubled program. actually if you know you can fix the electronic control panel of the electronic circuit itself, simply replace the IC EEPROM or memory alone. follows with Cristal oscilator usually must be replaced too
I have a GE Profile
Hi Thanksfor using FixYa. To start with check for power at theoutlet, check for 120volts. If the light inside the fridge works, the defrosttimer, coldcontrol and possiblythe wiring are the most common things that can make a fridge sit there and be"dead", not running. The defrost timer might be stuck in defrost, turn the timer screw to advance the timer and if the fridge comes back on,replace the defrost timer. You can join the wires together to by-pass the coldcontrol for a test, if the fridge comes on, replace the cold control. Please do accept the solution ifthe issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance. ThanksRylee
Similar problem last month.i replaced
If you are not hearing any fans or compressor try to unplug unit for about 1 minute. Plug unit back in and see if it will start. If not the main control board located on the back of the unit under a metal plate has gone bad and will need to be replaced WR55X10942 is the part number at approx. 165.00 The reason for the unplugging of the unit was to try to reset the board. Some times a small power surge will lock it out and it has to be unplugged to be reset. Hope the power restore helps. Good luck and thanks, Rick
Appears there is a bad connection or switch
I have the exact same problem.
Except mine will go out of temperature range.
I have replaced the thermistor in the fridge and it hasn' resolved the problem.
The temporary solution I have come up with so far it to unplug the fridge from the outlet to clear the motherboard and then plug it back in after 10-15 mins.
It sometimes lasts weeks, then acts up again.
I'm guessing it's a motherboard. (my next step)
