My water dispenser quit working on my GE

Ken Most likely the water line inside the freezer door is frozen( very common problem.. No long term fix out there other than defrosting the line(you did that when you defrosted the whole fridge) the trick is to run the water a lot the first day or so..sensors and motherboard have nothing to do with that..

How do i replace the motherboard?

Hi Caicoj, first unplug the unit. In the back of the refrigerator you will find a metal plate with about 8 screws. Remove the screws to access the control board. Each plug on the control board is different in size and you should be able to remove all of them by just pulling on it. Remove the old board and install the new one. Reconnect the wire harness making sure they are the right size harness for the plug and reinstall the metal cover then you are done. Plug the unit back in and enjoy. Good luck.

No power to compressor

64f3a6dd-5421-4ff7-88ae-4439146ab56d.jpgIs GSS25JFPCC the correct model number? If yes and many other GE refrigerators that have a motherboard. The motherboard for your refrigerator is found on the back and is item location 801 found HERE If you would like to replace the=> WR55X10942 Main Control Board or here=> WR55X10942 Main Control BoardI can provide you a service manual and explain all the things to consider when replacing the board. Things like fan motors, compressor start relay/overload and run capacitor also need to be examined to prevent the new board from going bad. A fan motor can cause this if it shorts. Yours sounds like the compressor circuit on the board down to the compressor has shorted on the morher board. I am here if you would like my assistance, Sea Breeze

Have a loud humming noise

You probable have ice buildup around your evaporator fan. You would need to remove the evaporator cover inside the freezer to expose the fan and see if you have ice around it.

Mold in dispenser

not a lot of ways to go about it. Best bet is q-tips... If you want to try and remove the cover and expose the dispenser area it's not that hard. Take a small phillips screwdriver and if you look under the user interface panel you will see three small holes in front. Put the screwdriver in one of the end holes and pull on just the front part of the cntrl panel on that end, should pop right off then four screws and you have full access to the dispenser.

Water inlet valve

The water valve is located in the "outside rear lower of unit" where the water pipes go into the unit for water source feed, remove the plate, the valves lift up and out or twist and up, remover the 2 wires on the valve and replace the valve, repeat the removal in reverse. PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE WATER SHUT OFF AND POWER PLUG """"REMOVED""" FROM THE POWER POINT. Any further issues, please contact me at [email protected] and I will guide you through the process. Russ

Psc25mstass The refrigerator does not

:
Hi!
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
It does a lot of clicking (trying to start over and over again)
If thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
I use part no ERP410 POWER START RELAY, CAPACITOR AND OVERLOAD all in one. (110 v)

Gss25jfphww ge REFRIGERATOR NOT WORKING, refrig

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.

Sounds like the cold control has stuck . Unplug the two wires from the cold control and plug them together. Turn one wire over and plug it into the other. away from the cold control.
The cold control is the knob in the ref that turns it on and off and has numbers on it. (Thermostat)
If it runs then that cold control (Thernostat) is the problem.
If that doesn't work DO THIS:
The relay on the compressor may need replaced
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
Thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
also try hooking the two wires together on the cold control to route around the cold control.
Be sure the BACK COVER is in place and hasnt been accidently removed.

The cold control needs replacing. Thats the knob with the numbers that turn the Ref OFF and ON.
What I do is call my local Appliance Parts Store with my model no. They are extremely helpful .
Get freezer and ref thermometer. Ref is probably too cold.
Freezer should be 0 to 10 degrees. Ref 33 to 35

WATER SPLASHING IN FREEZER AT ICEMAKER
THE FILL TUBE IN BACK OF REFRIGERATOR CAN SLIP
AGAINST THE FILL RESERVOIR CAUSING A PARTIAL BLOCKAGE
OR BECOME CLOGGED WITH ICE.
REMOVE THE ICEMAKER AND INSPECT THE FILL TUBE.
RUN WATER IN TUBE TO ELININATE BLOCKAGE AND CHECK
TEMP IN FREEZER. IF TEMP IS BELOW 0 DEGREES, THATS
OVERKILL AND USUALLY A WASTE OF ELECTRICITY TO KEEP IT THAT COLD, NOT TO MENTION THE FILL TUBE FREEZING UP

Leaking after auto defrost runs

When a refrigerator defrosts and also during normal operation there is water from melting ice or condensing on the evaporator which is supposed to end up in a pan or container under the refrigerator. This is probably full. I'm not sure how to access this on your model but there's either a bottom front cover which can be easily removed and the pan can slide out or through the access panel in the back towards the bottom. Hope this helps.

At back of unit I disconnected line and get water

When you push in the water dispenser do you hear two clicks? The first click is the switch in the front. The second click is the solenoid in the back. The solenoid has to open to let water through. If you don't hear that second click then it is most likely the solenoid.
If you remove the grill below the fridge doors you will find a plastic line and a coupling. disconnect the coupling. Push the dispenser arm in and see if water comes out. If it does then you have a frozen water line in the freezer door. Most likely it is frozen right below the ice cube dispenser door as it sometimes leaks out cold air if it does not shut properly. You can use a heat gun or hair dryer to thaw the line. Be careful not to melt any of the components.
If you do not get water out of the line at the coupling then it may be frozen in the fridge cooling coil. This is rare and usually only happens if you run your fridge on a very cold setting.

I just changed my water

Provided it is the right filter, are you sure you got all the packaging off the new one - that there's no seal over it? Alternatively, try reinstalling?

I have a GE side

Your water line is frozen near the line outlet. Use a hair dryer to melt the ice and put a wire up the tube to open up the line and then your dispenser will work again after that blockage has been removed. If you remove the blockage and are still not getting water then you will need to replace the water inlet valve.
