Fridge side is not getting cold all of a sudden as
Hi,
If just your fridge side is not cooling...
The most common thing is ice building up on the coils which stops the air flow...
Now the board could cause the defrost not to work if it controls the defrost cycle....
or the defrost heater can be bad....
Some also have a defrost timer which can go bad also, but I do not think yours has that....
So yes, the board is very easy to change and I would try that....if it does not work then the heater is gone...
You also will need to shut down the unit, remove the back panel and manually defrost it with a heat gun or hair dryer or the new board will not work....it cannot play catchup with the ice...it needs to start clean...

I changed the water filter and water still does
You need to check for water flow. Is the water flowing when you try to get water at the door? Can you hear it running? If not than it is probably your water valve on the back of the fridge where all the water lines come together at the bottom. If you do hear water running, where is it going? Pull the fridge out and watch the back while you or someone else tries to get water.. You probably have a broken water line. If it is the water valve it is very easy to replace. Unplug the fridge and turn off the water to fridge. The cardboard bottom guard on the back comes off with a 5/16 nut driver. The water valve is blue and has two sets of wires hooked to it. Should also have a 5/16 screw holding it in. Remove the screw. Take a picture of the wires or label them. Unplug the wires and then the tricky part. The water lines come out by pushing in on a little ring right around the tube at the valve. Push in on the ring and while pushing in, pull out the tube.Go get a new water valve and do the reverse to install. Just push the tubes all the way in, no need to push on the ring again. If it is a broken water line then you will need to get more tubing and replace the broken stuff. Do not forget to plug the fridge back in while you get a new water valve or tubing! The wires will be ok.

RE: GE model #gsh25jsrf ss. The water does not
At the bottom of the freezer door ( remove the kick plate ) , there will be a water line . Follow this line , about 6 " to a connector . Push in on the white ring and pull out the line , at the same time . Activate the water dispensor pad and see if water flows from the line under the refrig . If it does , then the line in the door is frozen . Either raise the freezer temp for several days , so the line in the door will thaw , or , I have heard using an air tank will blow the ice out of the line in the door . If no water comes from the line under the refrig , while activating the pad , then replace the water valve , behind the refrig , the piece the wall water line connects to on the refrig .

We are snow birds and want to know what is best
Hi,
If you are leaving for six months I would empty everything out and then unplug it..place a 2x4 or something like that in the door to keep it open a bit so it stays aired out while you are gone...
