I was getting the f3

Hello,

The F2 Error code means the oven has detected an excess temperature condition. Most often this is due to a bad temperature sensor . F3 usually stands for a faulty oven sensor.since you said the sensor as been replaced, you will need to reset the oven for the oven to detect the new sensor, once the oven is reset, the problem is solve.

Take care.

I moved the latch for

The latches on this model oven have a very high failure rate. Once the latch fails it is permanent. To open the door you have to access the control panel to reach the door look. To do this first turn the power to the oven off at the service panel by turning the breaker off.
  • Step 1 Remove the three screws from the control panel. The control panel is on the outside of the oven, above the door handle. Pull the bottom of the control panel toward you, then lift it up. This action will release the control panel cover's tabs.
  • Step 2 The mechanism that operates the door latch during the self-cleaning cycle will be behind a smooth, square plate held in place with two screws. White, black and red wires, as well as a grounding wire, will be protruding from the face of the plate. These wires will be twisted together with other control panel wiring and covered with electrical wire caps.
  • Step 3 Remove the failed part by removing the caps and untwisting the wires. Using an appropriate wrench, extract any screws holding the plate in place. The cylindrical-shaped mechanism will be attached to and behind this plate.
  • Step 4 Visit a store or contact GE at (800) 626-2224 to acquire a replacement part. To reassemble, slide the new mechanism into where the old one was and reattach the plate with the screws. Reconnect the wires by twisting them together and replacing the electrical wire caps.
  • Step 5 Replace the control panel by slipping the top of the panel into its groove and angling the panel downward, dropping the tabs back into the slots. Replace the three screws.

Hello, you have an open or shorted oven sensor.. check the sensor harness connection between the sensor and the oven control. make sure power is OFF.. if wiring is okay you have to replace the sensor . call for service would be the easier route just tell them what you will need probably be about 200 dollars though once complete.

    I was gettin a F5 error andnow i get a F3 error

These are both problems with you Temperature sensor and circuit.
I would check the sensor first. You should have close to 1100 ohms. If this checks out good and wiring looks good the relay is integrated into the board so you would need to replace the control. The info below was taken from www.appliancehelponline.com You can also find diagrams there to show you what these parts look like.
Open oven temperature sensor (circuit) (over 2700 ohms) or, shorted oven temperature sensor. Could be a result of:
    · contamination on terminals
    · pinched wire in oven temperature sensor circuit
    · cold solder joint on control.
    · Disconnect power to range and remove oven temperature sensor connector from control.
    · Measure oven temperature sensor resistance at oven temperature sensor connector (take care not to damage terminals in block) - Should read 1100 ohms at room temperature (approx 72 degrees F).
    · Measure each oven temperature sensor lead from connector block to ground. If shorted, look for pinched or cut wire in oven temperature sensor circuit.
    · Check connector terminals - Look for deformed or corrosion on terminals. Repair or replace.
If all above is ok replace control.

    F5
    Relay safety circuit failure
    · Check oven temperature sensor circuit for intermittent high resistance.
    · Check lock circuit
    · Press Clear/Off and reprogram control. If code reappears, replace control

Note: If all above check OK the F5 code can be a result of a momentary loss of power (Do NOT replace control or lock, check lock circuit)

Replaced old control board on ge oven model

The black wire is a ground wire. You can also make your own ground with a washer and self-tapping drill bit. But the back lead is a ground.

Oven burner seems to not shut off. For a while

I don't think so ofcourse there could be something else that could be damaged because of the defective element. They start to develop hot spots whent there is food splashes that get on the electrical element and that splash is the area where most of the heat builds up till the resistive element burns a whole and that's when the sparking starts.

The oven heats up with just the ckt breaker on.

It is likely that the control thermostat has failed in the 'on' position, you need to get it replaced.

FFF Control error, failed EEPROM Replace the oven control board (also called clock or ERC).

The main control operates a series of software commands, which control the various features and functions of the oven. Each function or operation has a numerical value assigned to it. The numerical values can be added up - this is called the check sum operation. Every time the system is powered up and after each clean cycle the system performs a check sum and compares the value to the value programmed into the software (stored in memory).

An EEPROM check sum error or FFF code occurs when the values differ. If this happens, replace the oven control board (also called clock or ERC).Here is a list of error codes and corrective action that should be taken. Mike

HOW DO YOU REMOVE A WALL OVEN

First step: Kill power at breaker.
Second Step: Verfiy power is not on. No lights work, no heat, no sign of any power.
    Third step: Check power again.

Now, it is helpful to place a small table in front of the unit, at close to the same height as the opening in the wall. This way, when you get the unit out, you can set it somewhere while you unhook the wires.

When yu open the door, there should be screws along the edge that hold the unit to the wall. Remove these. There could be some along the top & bottom, and you may have to remove a piece of trim to locate these. Mine just had screws on the side.

You may find it easier to remove the door from the front of the unit. The door is usually very heavy, so be ready to catch it, and also, this will make the main unit in the wall lighter to handle. With the door off, you can also sometimes get a better grip.

Pull the unit out, set it on the table described earlier.

    Now the dangerous part,
Reach behind and unhook the wires. Probably used wire nuts. Be sure to cap off the bare wires from the wall so there is no danger of shock or shorts if someone were to turn the power back on.

Now you should have a big hole in the wall.
