The glass top cracked, can

Hello. Yes you can replace it. You need to remove the control assy. Open the oven door, at the bottom of the control assy there are 5 screws, remove those. Now pull off the knobs and unscrew the retaining rings around the switch shafts, should be 3 plastic and one brass. Remove the panel and set aside. Remove the screws holding the metal plate on, should be 4 black 1/4 inch screws. Once those screws are removed, pull the whole panel out and let hang down. This will have all your switches and erc control on it. Now there are 4 more screws that hold the front of the cooktop, unscrew those, disconnect the 2 wire harnesses at the connectors, pull the cooktop twards you and up and it will come right off. FYI some models have 2 screws in the back to hold the cooktop to the rear, but some don't. Now just reverse directions and your ready to go. Joe

How do we unlock the oven door! Accidentally

IF you can locate the model number tag (bottom left of door opening) you can look up the manual at www.geappliances.com
The only button on your stove that should make the door lock would be the clean button (self clean model) if that is pressed simply hit the clear/off or cancel key and wait for the door to unlock. IF the self clean option ran for an hour or so, you will have to wait for the oven to cool down before the lock can un-lock (safety feature).
Good luck with this!!

I get error F7 on GE oven.

Hi.

F7 on GE ovens means that there is a poor contact to keypad detected. When this happens the problem is either keypad or control panel.

Problem is fixed testing keypad and control assembly and replacing the faulty part.

Here the procedure to test the parts:

Hold down the CLEAR/OFF button on pad.
Disconnect the ribbon cable connecting control panel to pad and wait about one or two minutes to see if the code comes back.

If the code comes back, then you likely need to replace control assembly.
If the code does not re-appear on display, then the problem is with the key pad. In that case replace the key pad.

The procedure is only indicative. In case of faulty control assembly procedure may not be a definitive test. In that case replace the control pad first.

To find parts and diagrams for your appliance, enter the model number in the links listed below:

Double oven control panel just quit after power surge.

This is unfortunate.
The display is a computer you need to do most of the work.
Go Onlne to www.partselect.com and order that display. You will need a friend or a service guy to open and install you new display

Ge profile convection oven giving error code F7.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F7 means that the function pad button is stuck or the clock has gone bad. If you are unable to unstick the button then to resolve this issue you’ll have to replace the electronic range control. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
