GE JKP20 Electric Single Oven - Page 8 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
GE wall oven JK3800SHSS. Started clicking loudly during last 5 mins of Self-Clean. Ongoing clicking and running fan. How do I diagnose/fix this?
what was the error code?you should never self clean your oven before any big holidays, for reasons like this, if it takes out a part the part most likely will have to be ordered and the last day they take orders at my parts store is monday before thanksgiving so if it's your clock and you have to order it you might not have it for thanksgiving so hopefully you just have a bad latch assy. and you can get it fixed before the holiday, from what i've seen i will never self clean my oven,i use easy off and scrub it,the oven gets up to 1000 degrees and it damages the electronics in the oven.the clicking you hear could be the latch assy. unplug the oven.open the door and see if the hook part that locks into the door isn't jammed,i just went out tuesday to change a latch assy and that part was jammed, the rod that goes from the motor and to the door latch was hitting the metal part of the latch that bolts to the frame and i couldn't move the hook part or catch at all and the motor was clicking trying to move it,i had to lift the top of the stove, bend the body of the catch assy. so the rod could move freely and that fixed it.but using the self clean short lives the oven and it can damage the latch or the clock assy.send the error or just goggle it and it will tell you what it is.

Ge model jkp45 top oven does not heat
Look for the problem in 3 places.
1) the element has burned out.
2) The connector where the element is connected to the wiring has failed, or
3) the wiring has burned in two.
God bless your efforts.

Jkp45b0w2bb F5 code. this is a ge double oven and the F5 code just started.
I do not have specifics to your model...but at times the F5 code with GE ovens means there is an issue somewhere in the sensing circuit which measures the oven temperature. It could be the sensor itself (looks like a thin pencil sticking out from the back of the oven) or it could be in the wiring from the sensor back to the control unit display. Sometimes hitting the CLEAR OFF button helps...also totally depowering the oven via your circuit breaker panel and repowering....but odds are low that will 100% solve it.

Ge profile JPB90W S2WW convection self cleaning
They do charge a fortune for parts. Get the part number for the controller and then log it into ebay. Often you can get the parts there for a much better price. Otherwise repair will not be cost effective unless the part is dirt cheap. Yeah, right!

Can't get my loc off GE profile oven, door is open but can't use oven.
The "Clean Oven" aspect has been activated and it locks the door. If the door wasn't completely closed when the "Clean Oven" was initiated then that means it is still active. try pressing the"Clean Oven" button a few times to see if it will reset the locking mechanism. This usually fixes the issue you are having.
Hope this helps.

How to change the electric oven GE 168947 elements
Basically you unplug the oven and remove the back, you should see two wires connected to the elements where they come through the oven wall in the back. Unhook those wires. The elements are held in place with nuts on the portions that poke through, remove the nuts and pull the element out through the front, and install the new one. Note that if you break one of the connections on the wires to the heating element, they can be a real chore to repair because they are high heat connections.
