How do you replace the internal oven light?

You need to first unplug the microwave. Then if you look at the back/bottom, there are screws/bolts holding on the outer metal cover on the microwave. Remove all screws that you find on the outside and the outer panel will come off and give you access to the light bulb that you can then replace. Let me know if you need any more help on this.

GE microwave interior light bulb replacement.

It's pretty simple as long as you have an offset phillips screwdriver...

Of course, be sure to disconnect power to microwave and be sure not to touch the new halogen bulb with fingers.

STEP-BY-STEP:
First, remove upper vent panel and remove inner filter (same directions for just replacing inner carbon filter):

Then, remove inner plastic grille (2 screws) and final screw on left side of metal "air duct" - here's where you'll need the offset screw driver (and a little patience!):

Then, you can gently lift the sheet metal panel, find the light housing, squeeze and remove/replace :)

That's it...just replace bulb and reverse for reassembly. Be sure to keep track of screw locations there are various sizes/lengths used.

Oven won't shut off

One of the door switches is defective, caused by a build up of food particles or normal ware, to correct this a professional will need to identify the problem and replace it.

I have GE Advantium 120 SCB1001 Microwave Oven. It is plugged in, outlet has power, but nothing comes on at all.

There are TCOs (thermal cutouts) which also can fail or blow, resulting in "no power" conditions. All but one of them should be accessible without taking the oven from the wall. At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes. The full service manual is here. You can find helpful exploded views and order GE parts here. BUT there is one TCO which has thinner wires of a color other than black or white. This is the hood TCO and should read "open" or "infinite" which is correct. All other TCOs should read shorted or virtually zero ohms on a continuity test, as should the fuse. The cavity TCO is only accessible by removing the oven from the wall, then taking off its outer cover. When taking the oven from the wall, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward. You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here. We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

GE Advantium 120 When it finishes cooking the turntable keeps turning and light stays on. When I open door it will stop. When I close door it starts again.

It is one of two things, faulty door switch, or the keypad control board.
