I have an GE Eterna
It may be that the internal cooling fan is not working or the filters or air duct may be clogged, but it may also be a "noisy" magnetron.
First, check the filters. Then determine if the internal cooling fan is coming on.
I do not mean the hood vent exhaust fan which you can turn
on and off manually.
I'm instead talking
about the internal fan which comes on automatically whenever you microwave. We have a sound clip of what a microwave should sound like when the cooling fan and high voltage section are working. If that is working, and you have good air flow, then

2 things come to mind, 1)check the door limit switches. also make sure the switches are switching at the same time. Or very possible to board is faulty. All the signals and commands come from the board. Electronic control goes faulty and things wont switcjh off.
The turntable in the oven

We see (and repair) this a lot. The problem is on the control panel, which
we regularly repair nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week or so.This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament
shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first
unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a
failure on the controller. This can often also affect the exhaust fan, cooling fan, turntable, and/or inside light operation, too.Details of our service are at
our Web site, along with a video showing how to remove a typical
over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.Feel free to contact me directly with your brand, full model number and symptoms. We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.William E.
