Three times recently I got the EE 2 error. Each time gunk had built up where the tube goes into the firebox. A delicate scraping with a wire solved the problem. Now, what causes the gunk to build up?

The high yellow flame is probably due to a loose burner mat or a warped burner ring or both. As for the howling I'm not sure about that but would be related to the airflow, maybe something to due with the blower.

You can reuse the tube if it has been there and is not aged or cracked. If you want to use copper all the way, use what is called compression union fittings, do not try to solder if there has been fuel in the line or it is attached to a fuel tank of some kind. Here is a picture of the fitting you use for this type of hook up using copper tubing.

Hi. This is most likely caused by a dried out gasket.
Fuel may be made from kerosene, but if not kept lubricated, the gaskets will dry out over time.
There are several places you can go to get your gaskets, Menatds, HomeDepot, WalMart even carries some.
Also, check your fuel line connections so as to make sure that they aren't loose.
It only takes a little looseness to allow for seepage of fuel.
Another place that carries gaskets is Tractor Supply. They carry gaskets for items like this, and sometimes has options not carried at the other stores.
I hope you get the stove working again, and good luck !

You should check the filter at your oil barrel if you have one there and loosen the small vent screw to bleed the filter and line. You can also check the strainer in the fuel sump but remember to turn off the fuel at the barrel before removing the strainer from the sump. Also press the float reset button on the full sump. You can loosen but not remove the fuel line on the back of the heater if needed to get the fuel flowing. Be sure to place something under it to catch the kerosene and have some rags handy.
I have a lazer 56,
This is usually a fuel flow problem. If you have a filter at your oil barrel you should check it. Does the fuel pump make a loud thumping noise? If it does, the fuel isn't making it to the fuel pump. It can also be caused by a bad igniter. Use an ohmmeter to check the igniter. Connect it to the ends of the igniter leads. It should read between 15 - 20 ohms. You can also feel the igniter cover while it is going through the start up cycle. It should get warm and may be hot. You can check the fuel pump by removing the fuel line from the burner and directing it into a bowl to see if it is pumping. The pump will not start pumping until the burner lights come on. Also try pressing the fuel reset button on the right side of the heater. It is on the fuel sump. Let me know what you find and I can give you more advice if needed. Your vote and any testimonial are also appreciated.
