The 6000 error is a generic internal error code. Unfortunately, it could mean one of many things. To resolve the 6001 error, please follow the following steps: 1. After re installing software I still got the same message. So I went into the menu on the MX922. Then to Setup. Device settings. Then reset settings. Then Reset ALL. Works fine again.

Try turning off both the computer AND the printer. When it restarts, the two will reset and recheck and communicate.

you have two reset machine 5 times by unplug unit wait 5 min plug back in & let it do the funky chicken thing. Do this 5 times

It could be a jammed microswitch or the CD print tray is down.

You have it set to "auto answer", right? The phone line is plugged into the printer, right?

You have to push it back until you hear the click of the correct position :)
