I used My kenwood chef premier with the liquidiser at the weekend and now I cannot separate the glass part of the liquidiser from the plastic bit at the bottom. Any ideas?

I have just had the exact sme problem.
It is caused by a 1 watt resistor on the board.
You will also find that very possibly the large capacitor, a 0.1uF, has aso burnt out. This capacitor would have cracked open down the side and that is where the smoke came from.
parts can be replaced by a repair man and possibly a better solution is to have the board replaced, They are availiable still.
