Reinstall your operation system .

u need to install the driver and software of the webcam...use the cd that came with the webcam...connect the webcam...insert the CD in the CD drive...the system will auto look for the driver...if not then u need to do it manualy....(these below isnt are for WinXP only)
go to Desktop,
look for My computer, (if that's not there then go to Start. My Computer, Rightclick, Tick the "Show on Dektop" option)
go back to Dektop, My Computer, right click, Properties, Hardware Tab, Device Manager, Look for Camera or Imaging Devices, look for yellow ? or ! mark, select that and update the driver from the CD

This will happen if the Microphone in the Computer is not enabled or if the Audio Driver is not installed correctly.

To make sure that you have enabled the Microphone in the computer, please right click on the Sound icon on the System Tray (right corner of the taskbar). Then, select the "Recording Devices" option. This will open the Sound Properties window. In the Speaker/Headphones Properties window, click on the Levels tab. Then, on the Levels tab, next to Microphone , click on the speaker button to enable the microphone.After that click the OK button and close the open windows. This will enable the Microphone in the Computer.

If the issue still persists, you may need to re-install the Audio Driver in the computer to fix it.

Please download the file to a temporary folder in the Computer. After that, please open the folder where the file is downloaded and double click on it to begin the installation. Please follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation process. After that, restart the Computer for the settings to take the effect. Re-installing the Audio Driver also fixes the issue with the Microphone. Hope this helps..

after 4 months.. take it back, it is under warantee.
I would not mess about with anything that was still under warantee

Try Windows Update.

The plus (+) and minus (-) volume control buttons on the touch sensor bar above the keyboard may not work properly if the touchpad driver is not installed properly.

The other buttons on the touch sensor bar, such as the play, forward, or rewind buttons, may still work properly.
To resolve the issue, download and install the original Synaptics® Touchpad Driver (or an updated version of that driver, if available) from the Drivers & Software link on this page.

1. Click the Start button, and then click on Computer .
2. In the Computer window, under Hard Disk Drives , double-click on (C:) .
3. Double-click the Windows folder.
4. Double-click the DRIVERS folder.
5. Double-click the .EXE folder.
6. Double-click the Pointing Driver (Synaptics) folder.
7. Double-click on the setup or setup.exe icon.
8. Follow the Synaptics Pointing Driver Installation wizard instructions to install the driver.

Downloading and installing the Synaptics driver update available through the Drivers & Software link on this page will also resolve this issue.

if you just need to clean the dust from them, most stores that sell computers such as wal mart radio shack , best buy etc. sell cans of compressed air to blow out all the dust. just make sure your computer is turned off before you blow the dust out. i hope this helps!!!

Install the Camera Driver and Software in the Computer.

Restart the Computer after each installation.

select the operation system and there will be all the drivers you need ..I checked and there are available all drivers for windows 7 on 32 and 64

Press and hold the power button until it shuts off. Normally about 5-10 seconds.

It means you blew your driver. This has happen to me to. I just system restored my laptop & downloaded all the drivers & it was fixed.

hi i recommend to download vaio update and it is only 4 MB size. once you download the tools it will get you all the update required by the laptop. Even your using win 7 it will download latest update make sure you enable auto update in Win 7. you will find the update tool in contol panel.
I hope this will resolve the issue.

Turn the computer off.
Turn it upside down.
Remove the battery.
Look at the various "access-door" covers.
Open one door, using a small screwdriver to release the screws.
Try to *NOT* "lose" those screws!
You may find access the computer's stick(s) of RAM, or to the wireless-adapter.
Hopefully, you will find the "cage" that surrounds the disk-drive. If you do, undo some more screws, to release the cage. Remove the cage.
Unscrew the HDD from the cage.
Take the HDD to a computer store,
and get them to "match" the "data" and "power" connectors, to sell you a "compatible" HDD.

Screw everything back together.]

Reinstall Windows (I presume that you have the set of CD-ROMs supplied by the manufacturer).

You can either access the program that is installed for your camera or on say like an instant messenger like yahoo or msn, they will drop down menus that will automatically open your webcam when requested by you. Hope this helps
