How to close PC laptop lid with external monitor

You need to change the pc power settings, so closing the lid does not turn off the computer. Open the Power settings by clicking on the battery icon in the bottom right hand of the screen. Save the settings and it will stay on until you press the power key to turn it off.

Why won't my Dell Latitude e4300 power up

Exactly how far along does it 'go' in not starting back up? Do you get any actions at all when you hit the power button? Do any LED's light up? Can you press the test button on your battery and get any of the LED's there to light up? If the answers to these questions are NO, you might have a bad power supply. That would be the first place to look if you get no action at all. If you do get anything occurring when you press the power on button, then there are a whole series of questions a PC tech would go through to try and diagnose the problem. Not enough information here to go further.

You can download the device drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Tag label is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed).
