If you computer is in sleep mode, you don't need to restart it simply click the left button on the mouse

EL7 is not a coil. it is a connection point to the transformer, check the transformer for short circuit. Also check the bridge rectifier that is in that path.

That means your monitor is not receiving a signal from your video card. A couple things to check: *Make sure your cable is ok - unplug and replug the cable to see if it is a loose connection. Or try a different cable. *Make sure your computer is not in sleep mode - Move your mouse or otherwise ensure your computer is awake and sending a video signal *If you have another computer, try the monitor on the other system and see if it works.

Are you sure that the caps were installed in the correct position ? It does matter. Did you buy cheapy caps or the preffered Japan made gold caps, if you got made in China caps just replace them with quality Japanese stuff and you will be happy.

Even a single capacitor failing can cause the monitor to not power up right. Some of the capacitors in the power supply actually are used to start the oscillators that drive the board if they fail the board never starts up. The remaining capacitors are filter caps that help provide steady output voltages, if they fail then the voltages fluctuate and the power good signal does not go on or it goes on and off which make the power button flash. If you can solder then you can repair the monitor yourself for less than $15 in parts. Are you sure that the lamps (4) are bad and not the backlight inverter circuits.

Not all the LCD lamps can easily be removed, some of them you have the completely disassemble the screen to get the lamp asemblies out. Need to do voltage checking and caps inspection first, it should have 5vdc for the logic and 16~18vdc for the inverter circuits
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). Hey hows it going,

My name is ArmyMason, lets see if I can get you going in the right direction. www.partstore.com might have a deal on the parts you need but I am thinking it would be cheaper for you to buy a new monitor or consider hitting up a local pawn shop for a cheap replacement. These parts can cost more than the whole monitor because LG buys parts in major quanity and we all know (WalMart effect) the more you buy the cheaper the price. So if you need to take it apart in the back of the monitor are a bunch of screws start unscrewing and make sure you know where they all go. tape them near the hole so that you can find them later. Once all apart, be sure to wear gloves, dont want anything to possiably contaminate you. (LEAD)... get the part number off the screen and look it up in that site. Order it and replace it. It is straight forward to replacing it.

Full 'make model (what it is)' in all questions please, first 3 words. Capacitors can split or bulge, resistors can burn,, the transformer can fail internally.. Take it for repair unless you have the thousands of dollars of test equipment and have do the 2 year electronic course.
