E19T5W monitor doesn't stay on once power button is depressed

Chances are the power supply in the monitor is going out. Today, monitors are cheap and unless you have a 24' or better, it really doesn't pay. You may spent $100.00 and find one new for $135.00 Hope this helps

If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

I have a emachines e19t5wtft

Hi,

This is most likely a backlight related problem. It is most likely one of two problems:

1) Something is wrong with your power/inverter board. Most likely you will need to replace bulging or bad capacitors on the power board. They will like have voltages between 16-25V and capacitances of 470-1000uF. You will need to disassemble the monitor, remove its power board, and inspect it. If you notice bad capacitors, you will need to desolder them from the board and solder on new compatible ones. This should solve the problem.

OR

2) If replacing the capacitors doesn't solve the problem, the problem may be with your backlights themselves. If you are able to test them, that would be best. Replacing them is a pain as you will have to disassemble the LCD panel itself to get them out. You will then have to replace them with compatible backlights of the same size, which you can salvage from similarly sized broken monitors.

Keep in mind that the suggested actions above are for individuals with some experiences in soldering and repairing circuit boards or LCDs. Also be sure to wear anti-static gloves or wristband and keep the monitor unplugged when performing the above stated actions (except of course when testing voltages).

Please check this link for the user guide of emachines monitors and check the troubleshoot section..hope it will help….

Blinking blue power light and greenish tint....

Is the monitor still under warranty? (probably only the first 12 months)

Try connecting the monitor to a different desktop/notebook computer, to see if it is fine.
If it is, you have a problem with the video-card in your computer, not a problem with your monitor.

There are "capacitors" inside the monitor, that serve to supply "smooth" and "ripple-free" power to the electronic circuits. If you have "bad" capacitors, they are not doing what they should be doing, which causes the electronics to malfunction.

So, if your monitor is a CRT monitor, it's time to responsibly recycle it, and buy a new one.

If your monitor is an LCD monitor, take it to any TV/video repair shop, and pay them $25 to $50 to "inspect" it, looking for "bad caps". Or, spend that $25 to $50 to buy a new LCD monitor.

I counted 13 quick beeps at startup on an emachines E520. what dose that mean ? how do i fix it please ?

Thirteen quick beeps at startup on an eMachines E520 usually indicate a problem with the laptop's RAM (Random Access Memory). This could mean that the RAM is not properly seated in its slot, or it could be a sign of a faulty RAM module.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this issue:

Turn off the laptop and disconnect it from the power source.
Remove the battery from the laptop.
Locate the RAM compartment on the bottom of the laptop.
Check to make sure that the RAM module is seated properly in its slot. You may need to remove and reinsert the RAM module to ensure a proper connection.
Replace the battery and turn on the laptop.
If the problem persists, try removing the RAM module and testing it in a different laptop or using a different RAM module in the eMachines E520 to determine if the problem is with the RAM module itself or with the laptop's RAM slot.
If none of these steps solve the problem, it may be necessary to contact a computer technician for further assistance..

  7. Install Windows ME: Continue to follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation of Windows ME.
After the installation is complete, the computer should be in a factory reset state and you can begin setting it up as a new system. Please note that resetting your computer to the factory settings will erase all personal data and installed programs, so be sure to back up any important data before proceeding with the reset.
