My emachine d620 laptop will not power on. the led
Hi. I would suggest that you powerdrain your computer might fix this. To powerdrain your computer you must remove first the battery and unplug the ac adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds, after that you must place back the battery and plugin the ac adapter then turn on your computer. If this doesnt work try to powerdrain again the laptop then just use the ac adapter to turn on your computer and that is without the battery. Hope this helps.

Hdd password locked how can i get around it?
Restart the computer:
When it starts to load, watch at the bottom of the screen for two F commands:
You'll have to look quick, cause they don't stay up long, and you may need to restart to see both of them.
Once you have located and determined which will enter setup, hit that F command to go into setup.
Once in setup, you'll see a File Menu.
Scroll to the menu that allows you to change the password.
To change it (since you don't know or can't remember the old one) simply hit enter in this field. If you want a new one, type in the desired password and (write it down) and hit enter. If you don't want a password, simply hit enter and it will enter blank as no password.(not the word "blank"), it will just be set for NO password.
Once you have successfully changed (cancelled out) the password, scroll over ot the Exit Menu list, and scroll down to "save and exit".
This will exit setup and your OS should resume to open. If it prompts for a password, simply hit enter, and it should load into the OS.
If it does not, restart the computer, as it may not have saved the new setting just yet.
Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

How to replace D620 power jack? pwer jack is
The power jack is located on the motherboard. It is soldered to it. You have to remove the screws behind the laptop securing the back cover and disconnect the hard drive and GPU cables remove the keyboard so that you can pull out the motherboard. This is necessary since the solder joints are located under the motherboard and the jack is over it. There are 3 pins that are soldered. Remove the solder on all 3 and pull out the jack. Insert the pins of the new jack in the space vacated by the old pins and use a low diameter solder(2mm or less if available and lead free solder only) to solder the pins to the board and voila!

My internet window will not close when I x out.
From what I understand you are now using a new version of Internet explorer or Firefox or chrome browser, all of which use something called tabbed browsing. These browsers open multiple pages in one window as tabs. (Earlier versions of Internet explorer used to open each pages individually, and using the close button will only close that particular window). In tabbed browser each tabs can be closed. If you try to use the close button on the top right hand corner, it will ask whether you want to close all the tabs and close all tabs if answered in affirmative. To close individual tabs click on that particular tab and you will see a small X on the right hand side of that tab. Use it and only one tab will be closed.

How do i install an optical drive for an emachine
- Click Start
, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then click regedit in the Programs list.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
- Locate, and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}Caution There can be many instances of the registry subkey that is mentioned in step 2. You must make sure that you are in the appropriate registry subkey before modifying the UpperFilters and the LowerFilters values. To verify that you are in the appropriate registry subkey, make sure that the Default data value is DVD/CD-ROM and the Class data value is CDROM.
- In the right pane, right-click UpperFilters, and then click Delete.
- Click Yes to confirm the removal of the UpperFilters registry entry.
- In the right pane, right-click LowerFilters, and then click Delete.
- Click Yes to confirm the removal of the LowerFilters registry entry.
- Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer

Brand new aspire 5732z laptop comes up with code
The Microsoft virtual wifi miniport adapter is a new
feature in Windows 7, Wireless Hosted Network:
About the Wireless Hosted Network
This device is
just a virtual device and it should not affect connecting the wireless
network with the physical wireless adapter.
Hence, I’d
suggest you to uninstall and re-install only the wireless network
adapter drivers from Device manager and check if
that fixes the issue.
Before
uninstalling the drivers from the device manager, make sure you have a
backup of the installation files.
It’s a good
idea to create a restore point before uninstalling the drivers. A
restore point is a representation of a stored state of your computer's
system files. You can use a restore point to restore your computer's
system files to an earlier point in time. Restore points are
automatically created by System Restore weekly and when System Restore
detects the beginning of a change to your computer, such as when you
install a program or a driver.
Create
a restore point
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Create-a-restore-point
Visit the
manufacturer’s website, download the latest wireless drivers and save it
on your hard disk.
To
uninstall the wireless connection from Device Manager,
1. Click Start, type Device Manager
in the Start search box and hit Enter.
2. Locate Network adapters and expand the same.
3. Select
the wireless connection, right-click and select Uninstall.
4. Restart
the computer, if prompted.
Drivers
should get installed automatically after restarting the computer.
Now, you
may install the latest wireless drivers and check if that fixes the
issue.
Hope this
helps

Restore factory default settings
In order to refresh a netbook you will have to use a USB key or an external USB DVD ROM to run windows and restore the system. If you still have all of the original software on the laptop you should be able to go to Start>>Control Panel>>Backup and Restore and click Create System Restore Disk. You can then create CDs that can be used to restore your system. You can also copy windows files from a DVD or ISO file to a USB thumbdrive and install windows again from scratch by booting to it. I will be posting a how to on how to do this in detail.
Good Luck,
