Samsung LCD TV Repair - TV Won't Turn On - How to Replace ... or if you have standby and the TV will ...
Most likely you will need to bring it in for repair. However, considering the model number of your TV, repairs may not be cost effective, and therefore, may be cheaper to purchase a new TV.
Make sure the video cables are securely connected and adjust the contrast/brightness. Make sure the correct video mode is selected. Make sure the incoming signal is compatible. Make sure the antenna/cable is connected correctly. Check the closed caption settings. Some TEXT modes can block the screen.
Using an aftermarket remote (DirectTV, purchased from EMTC) I was able to get it turned on using a code referenced by the instructions that came with it. If you look in the TV's manual it refers to using the SET button when trying to activate the correct code setting for the TV. This button is not present on this remote. However, reading elsewhere in the manual, and the remote's instructions, I concluded that (for this remote) simultaneously pressing SELECT and MUTE was equivalent to SET. I used that and one of the suggested codes and the set turned on!
If only one channel not likely a issue with the set but a direct enter with the numbers on the remote should take the set there and then in the menu you should be able to "add" it to the memory. As a last resort place this set where other set that is working is and see what happens..............
Try to follow the inverter to backlight connections---either a loose or damaged plug (look for any plug with tape on it at the plug first) or on the board that powers the lights a bad solder connection or connections where plugs connect.
Definitely sounds like a bad power supply. Especially if it's making any buzzing/hissing noises while it's flickering.
