Red colour problem
Try it on other PC, also try new VGA cable, then post back. This model may be still under warranty.

How do I open my Samsung 2233sw LCD monitor?
ericc539, To actually SEE how it is done, you could try a visit to YOUTUBE and search for video clips of "lcd monitor repair" and or "lcd monitor disassembly" !!!! My only advice to you is "don't use any sharp cutting instruments like carving knives to part the front bezel from the rear cover after any screws and pedestal have been removed. Could more than triple cost of repair if trip to hospital "ER" is required to fix monitor. Good luck. 12fixlouie

Samsung monitor loses picture
This is quite a typical problem, usually caused by defective electrolytic capacitors in the power supply of the monitor.
A good description of the phenomenon can be found
here.
I'm afraid there's not much you can do, apart from having the monitor repaired - the defective capacitors need to be replaced.

Blank screen, flashing led power light
this sounds exactly like what happened to my 2232BW. I took screenshots of the fix and posted them on my webpage:

Syncmaster 2333- connected fine to laptop on
Disconnect the monitor from the docking station and plug it directly in the laptop connector. If all is well it might be the docking station. I had one crash a computer and had to rebuild the operating system to make it work again.

What disavantage about LCD?
The most notable disadvantage to LCD screens is their fixed or native
resolution. An LCD screen can only display the number of pixels in its
matrix and no more or less. It can display a lower resolution in one of
two ways. Using only a fraction of the total pixels on the display or
through extrapolation. Extrapolation is a method whereby the monitor
blends multiple pixels together to simulate a single smaller pixel. This
can often lead to a blurry or fuzzy image particularly with text when
running the screen below is native resolution.
Video was problematic with early LCD monitors because of lower
response times. This has been overcome by many improvements, but there
are some that still have low response times. Purchasers should be aware
of this when purchasing a monitor. However, the improvements are often
work arounds that can actually lead to another problem of reduced color
clarity. Unfortunately, the industry is very poor about properly listing
the specifications for monitors to help buyers understand and compare
monitors.
- Blurry images Outside Native Resolution
- Motion Blur on Fast Moving images
- Some Models Have Reduced Color Clarity
Conclusions
At this point and time, most consumers will likely be purchasing LCD
monitors over CRTs. There is almost no difference in the cost to
consumers thanks to production improvements in LCDs and the reduction in
the production of CRTs. Typically CRTs will only be seen sold with the
least expensive of desktop computer systems or by those with special
imaging needs such as graphics and medical professionals.

My picture is smaller than the screen size.
Dear User,
This usually happens by selecting the wrong screen resolution or the resolution not supported by your Monitor.
However you can solve this by getting into the "Safe Mode" .
- Press the 'F8' key just before the windows logo appears.
- It presents a Menu with various options.
- Select 'Safe Mode'.
- You can now use your monitor here
- Now login as usual.
- Right click on the Desktop and go to Properties. In Setting use the lowest screen resolution. Click on Apply - OK.
- Restart your system properly.
- And you find everything OK again.
Thanks

I need to open up the back of a Polaroid 19 inch LCD TV
Hello,
that model does just have 2 screws but then you have plastic clips about every 3-4 inches on all sides. You need a small flat bladed screwdriver to release them. Insert the tip between the 2 halves of the case, be sure to not insert it near the control panel to start. Apply a gentle pressure and the clip closest to the tip should release and then just work your way around the case. Those cases are very close to the Westinghouse and Samsung cases. You can see pictures of how to do those cases at our web site at:
www.ccl-la.com If you have any questions just let us know through the contact us page on our site. We also have a page call getting the proper parts that may help you get the right caps for the replacement job, They need to be low ESR and high ripple current or they will blow again and could damage the other parts of the power supply.
I hope this helps you get back going again.
