Blue screen could be a bad main board or a no signal issue---do you get picture with DVD player connected?

Please be sure that the wire is in and the power is on and you press on the control comand on power button or 1 button......If the tv is on there should be a red or blue light open....

Does it do this using more than one input? Have you tried using a different source such as DVD? IF using HDMI inputs does it do it on all of them? I have seen this trouble because of configuration issues with some satellite boxes also have seen similar issues because of a bad HDMI input.

Cheapest route is to get a universal remote and start over. Most remotes have their life span. Sometimes shorter. Any abuse of the remote by dropping, getting wet, etc will make it quit. Hazards of a little piece of equipment we don't see as important UNTIL it does not work!

TV sets that have been exposed to significant surges can have multiple boards that are damaged. If the backlights are indeed firing, and you get no picture, you may have a problem with the T-Con board, assuming the main board is working properly. This is exactly why I steer people away from repairing sets that have been hit with large surges. In most cases it will be cheaper to buy new sets vs. repair them.

I would take a very close look with a flashlight first at the screen unit for any signs of cracks etc. The display panel is very fragile and if damaged this is fatal cost wise.Since you may have nothing to lose I would open set up and have a good look inside for any signs of physical damage.If you need to know the safe way to open let me know and I will explain.
