Hi, this was a very powerful surge that has occurred during the power outage. the surge has fried the power sector of your set. you will need to replace the damaged power board/flyback in this case. this will restore the normal power flow in the set.

Get the 8.00 rca universal remote at wal mart (model rcr312w) follow the auto scan instructions and it will work.  I just had this same problem, bought 4 universal remotes and this one worked!

well this probally newer set try to find universal remote and progam and if there are alot of codes for the set make you go thru every one make sure that universal remote has video input button
not saying it will work for ya but its better than buying new remote thru ilo try that to if first sympton does not work good luck

hi I am Vortash .. burning smells usually mean Power supply or line output .. flyback problems .. this is probably one of those jobs only an engineer should look at .. voltages on the line can exceed 400 volts and are highly dangerous the line output from the transformer depending on the type of tube can be up to 25,000 volts .. so best leave this one to the proffesionals Regards Vortash

sounds like one of the tubes is gone. RGB stands for red green blue. These colours are mixed together to make all the other different colours on your tv's picture. when one goes then you end up with whats left working.If tv is fairly old chances are its cheaper to replace then to try getting fixed. tv's have came down drastically in price lately because of such high demand and competition to the market.

I am surmising you have checked the plug fuse .. so it is more likely a fault on the Power supply of the set .. this may be a fuse blown but remember there is always a reason for a fuse to blow so just replacing it will possibly do more damage if it takes another component out .. an engineer will check things like the Bridge rectifier for shorts or a leaky or shorting filter Capacitor that is across the bridge output smoothing the AC .. possibly a shorted Opto Ic on the secondary stage ..or a blown fusible resistor on the primary , so you see it is probably best that you get an engineer to check it out Regards Vortash

its a vertical problem could be bad cap or possible vertical i.c. okay take to tv shop is their still a warrany on this set sounds pretty new shad

Hi. This tv may have an issue within its contents.This issue concerns the power supply board. to confirm this, unplug the tv from the surge protector, if any, and wait for 3 Min's. after this 3 min wait, plug this unit into a wall outlet and power up. if it dose not power up, you will defiantly have to replace the power supply board.

you may need to check the input setting on the tv in the menu. It should have a setting like veido 1 or 2 maybe aux i dont know for sure but check and see. Also you can take tne anti out on vcr to anti in on tv put tv on 3 or 4 which ever the vcr is set for then should work that way also.

Frist this tv is made by Funai and they have told me that cant get parts for upto a year,that said it could be the remote sensor in the tv.You will probley have to take it to a shop to have it checked out or if you could get a nother remote from someone who has one like yours thenyou could try that frist. The remote could be ad its self.

Without an remote you may not be able to. Try to channel down on the TV itself down past two to see if input shows up
