Check your compressor to ground. If there is continuity, time for a new one. Also check the condenser fan motor. If those test ok check all the electrical connections to ground.

The unit was running when we came in. No Storms in the area. it was blowing hot air, but was still on the cool setting. There was a burnt wire smell coming from the unit. And the diag. code was Br. I found this odd since it still had power.

yes it is fixable does the blower run? I would pull it out take it outside and wash with hose the outside coil and inside coil make sure you clean the outside coil real good on both sides. this may solve your problem.

The only way to solve this problem is to replace the control board.

First unplug the unit......Take the front cover off, take the wire screen off where the front fan is there is 4 or 5 screws that hold the plate that was under the screen. The electric heating elements are under that plate between the evaporator coil and the front blower wheel. It will lift straight up and give you access to the elements. In the electric heating element area there is a limit switch with a red or black button in the center of it push it to reset the limit it is on the right hand side by the controls. I wish I could find a picture to show you but I couldn't find one. It is not easy to get to... Hope this helps.

Well, the solution is sort of a good news/bad news situation. It appears that the model number that you listed has been subject to a Safety Recall. This despite the fact, Amana no longer makes that specific model.

there might be a reset button on the heat protector / you just might have a bad heat protector or the sensor on the board could be burnt out

STATUS= Brown Out Protection engaged. Power was lost or voltage is low.

Check input power for right voltage.
And please note white is not mentioned as common for thermostat. If you want to check wiring for thermostat write again.

Do you believe if volt meter shows correct volts, it's perfect? No, even loose contact of neutral,burnt wire, it shows correct volts in that point.
Simple way to check the power is alright or not, just remove the a/c plug and connect any other device like electric racer, table fan, blower or iron box which work same volts as a/c. If other devices work, your power is o.k Or check for loose contact in your electrical wiring. Thanks.

To getproper heat, keep your temp setting at 30+ degree and also mode in "heat "position.If still no heat, check your heating sensor for closed circuit by an OHMsmetre.It it's with RV, check power to RV

If not iside the furnace is a red reset push button if you push that chances are you had flame rollout and you need to call the experts that means either you have a cracked heat exchanger or a blocked or not working inducer

I would replace the thermostat.

First - be sure and un-plug the Air Condtiioner from the wall.

When you 'select' the temperture I am assuming you are doing this with a 'knob' of some sort. This knob will be part of the thermostat - therefore it (t-stat) should be simple to identify.

Note: On some - LED/Electronic units - it may be difficult to identify the thermostat.

If, however, you can easily ID the t-stat - then you will have to dismantle the AC unit enough to get to the thermostat; it will be installed on/in the unit with screws of some type.

When you find the thermostat -- simply take the wires off the connections (these are usually - 'female' type spades that slide over 'male' type connections on the switch.

When you remove the wires be sure you mark them in such a way you can replace them on the "correct" terminals of the new thermostat without getting them mixed up.

It will be essential that the new thermostat - (A) physically fit the slot that the old one did, i.e. you can re-install it as the old one was and - (B) that it will have the connections you need - in order to connect your wires correctly.

If you take the old thermostat to an Air Conditioning Supply house they will probably be able to sell you an exact replacement - but in any event - an appropriate replacement - that will work.
