I received a disturbing phone call - called the
I assume it was a mobile number? Doubtful that it would be disconnected that quickly tho unless it was reported to the network for making various other nuisance calls, more likely though it is just switched off or the sim is removed from the phone,
Its extemely hard to trace the owner of a payg sim as they are not always registered and highly likely that one which was to be used for nuisance calls would be registered,
Best to try to forget it as it may have been a random 1 off call but if it persists your local police station will be able to advice

Ringer off, need to re-install ringer. volume control does not put ringer back on
To turn your ringer back on, you do the following. For your handset, you push Menu, scroll to ringer settings, then push select, Press select again for ringer volume, then scroll up to turn on and increase the ringer volume. Then press Save once its at the desired volume. To change your base ringer, while it is not in use, push the ringer up button until you hear the desired setting. That should fix your problems.

No link to base Panasonic KX-TG2357
Astoundingly, the KXTG2357 works only with the original handsets it came
with! You cannot replace a handset by buying another one (same model,
of course) and register it with the base. How ridiculous is that? It's
like buying a lamp that works only with the bulb that came with it.
Replacement bulbs won't work. Well, Panasonic is one company I won't be
dealing with anymore! So, the solution is to get along with one less handset, or buy a new phone unit!

Lost communication with base unit. I'm following
Some Panasonic cordless phones come with up to five handsets each will need to be properly adjusted. You may need to set the main handset to synchronize with the base unit plugged into the telephone wall jack and assign special configuration numbers to the other handsets in order to properly identify each one within a specified location. One handset left in the turned on mode may make it impossible to place calls with the any of the other handsets. This will continue until either the battery dies or fails on the handset or the phone is switched off and replaced in its charger for charging again. Synchronize the main handset by pressing the MENU button on the handset, then pressing the down button IN order to select the number you wish to assign to that handset. Repeating this process if you have already done so will greatly decrease the level of errors experienced with panasonic phones MORE USEFUL INFORMATION FOR ALL YOUR ELECTRONICS
When troubleshooting these units, there are always several variables to consider. First check to see what last occurred with the unit such as did the children play video games, did the electricity go out due to bad weather. You may see that there are many possibilities but let's focus on what occurred last to the unit. Once we determine what happened last, we may isolate the actual cause of the problem. The actual cause may be associated with projection issues, older versions (Picture tube), interference from devices located nearby, and even a radio turned on and located really close to your unit. This is normally known as electromagnetic interference to electronics and is very common with the error you have provided today. Please continue to look for anything EXTERNAL to the unit before looking at the internal components. I have been working on these a long time so feel free to follow up with me.

Phone begins to beep (low
I don't know whether it's a new set or you've been using it for a while. In fact, you have to charge the battery for 6 hours continuously before you use them. That's the average and recommended charging time. Once it's charged that way, you can recharge them when necessary, but if you don't charge it at least 6 hours before you use it, the battery will have problem and will die out very often, means will never last long.
The average Battery Standy time is 264 hours (if not calls are made or received.), i.e. approximately 11 days, if there're outgoing and incoming calls, it should at least last for 5 days or more.
In your case, I think, the battery wasn't fully charged as recommended when you used it for the first time. For now you can only recharge the battery for continuously another 6 or more hours and try whether this helps or not. If it charging is not helpful, it's likely that you'll need another battery.
I wish you good luck.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Can not rec a dial tone, phone states no link to
If “No link to base. Move closer to base, try again.” is displayed
even when using the handset near the base unit, the handset may have lost communication with the base unit. You need to re-register the handset to the base unit.
• Make sure the base unit is not being used.
• Have both handsets and base unit nearby during registration.
• Follow steps 1–3 listed below. You have about 1 minute to complete them.
• Confirm the extension number of the handset which has lost the communication by placing the handset on the base unit or charger.
If you re-register the handset using the other handset’s extension number, the other handset will not function.
• If the handset beeps 3 times and “Error!!” is displayed, an error occurred. Try again from step 1.
• You can stop registration by pressing [OFF] on the handset, and pressing [LOCATOR/INTERCOM] on the base unit.
1 Base unit: Press and hold [LOCATOR/INTERCOM] until a beep sounds.
• The CHARGE indicator flashes.
2 Base unit: Press the extension number [1] (handset symbol 1 ) or [2] (handset symbol 2) of the
handset which has lost the communication.
3 Handset: Press and hold [FLASH/CALL WAIT] until “Handset Registering” is displayed.
• When registration is complete, a beep sounds from the handset and the display shows the number.
• Wait for 20 seconds after registration is complete while the handset establishes communication with the base unit.
• If the handset beeps 3 times and “Error!!” is displayed, an error occurred. Try again from step 1.
• You can stop registration by pressing [OFF] on the handset, and pressing [LOCATOR/INTERCOM] on the base unit.

Panasonic KX-TG2357
To open phone remove the 2 crews at the bottom, then pry open using a screw driver to unlock the internal fasteners. then remove 3 internal screws. Clean-up the PCB key and the back of the keypad with Acetone. This works perfectly. Saved me $150 on a new set.
