AC freon holding tank and extractor metal torch new evaporator freon to put back in the system
1- empty the system and save the gas inside it will deplete the ozone layer 2--take out evaporator by cutting on both end with the torch 3- put new evaporator back by uniting with blow torch both ends. 4-put your gas back on

there is no way to loosen the belt in that chevy. it is a serpentine belt system with a belt tensioner that keeps the correct tension on the belt. check the belt and all the pulleys for wear. if the belt and pulley are in good shape i would suggest changing the belt tensioner.
